“Ugh!” I hold it in my mouth, trying to keep from throwing up, shivering before swallowing it down, gagging again. “Ughhhh, how the fuck do y’all drink this nasty shit?” I wrinkle my nose, beating my chest to get this shit down. “I always knew you didn’t like me! But stooping to poison is some low down dirty shit.” I curl my lip, glaring at him, and he throws his head back in laughter.
“It’s not that bad. Chill.” He takes another big ass swig of the poison in his cup and it gives me the heebie jeebies just watching him do it.
“Dude, that’s nasty as hell.” I shake my head, and he just keeps right the fuck on chugging, making my stomach lurch in disgust.
“It might be nasty, but it’ll relax you and help you unwind some.” He sets the glass down with a refreshing “Ahhh” sound like that old Coca Cola polar bear commercial, and it just pisses me off even more because unlike how I felt when I drank Coke for the first time, that shit was neither refreshing nor relaxing.
“No the fuck thank you.” I shove the glass away and turn my attention to the club jumping down below us, wishing I’d come with my girls because then Ireallywould have been able to relax and unwind somewhat. Even so, no matter how I was feeling, Faythe had that thing pop up, and Bebe ain’t even here.
But here the fuck I am with these big ass niggas who are acting like that ain’t never seen girls a day in they mother fucking life.Ugh…I should have just stayed at the hotel, but I don’t want to be there either because then I would be in my head about Frank. He’sstillyet to message me back.
When I feel eyes on me, I cut my gaze over to a nigga on the floor looking me over like I’m a prime ribeye steak, and I am, but I’ll be damned if I’m gobbled up by a dude that’s wearing a twelve dollar beauty-supply sto’ necklace that’s already turning his neck green and a grill with diamonds. I’m not even a gold digga, butwhy fam?Mouth probably taste like pennies.Fake ass Paul Wall looking ass.
I roll my eyes and turn away, wishing a mother fucka would try to approach me right now… I’m just not in the mood.
“Damn, Jess! Why the fuck is your resting bitch face game tighter than when you were on the field earlier?” he laughs and I scrunch my face up even more.
“I’m not sure what you’re talking about.”
“Uh huh, sure you don’t. That’s why yo’ ass need to keep drinking that damn beer and maybe… just…MAYBE,it’ll make the MVP loosen up a lil’.” He bumps my shoulder.
“Nah, I’m good.” I fold my arms on the bar and he sighs exasperated, but I don’t care. This is not my crowd. I’m already uncomfortable as it is. I don’t know what the hell I was thinkingcoming here… I knew I would never be able to show these guys a side of myself that I keep private.
“Damn Jess, this is not how the MVP should act! You made history out there, and you’re in here moping and shit. Don’t tell me it was that cross-dressing dude?” Tek claps his hands on my shoulder, shaking me. “If itis, that’s more reason to let go and unwind.”
“I’m already unwinding as much as I can,” I tell him, and it’s the truth. I don’t know if Tek thought I was going to get out here and start popping my ass and shit like the other girls on the dance floor, but I would never do that in front of them just so they can say they are looking at me differently and sexually when I fuck up. Nah, I’m good, and while I appreciate the sentiment, I’m just way too aware for that.
The craziest part is that it’s not even that Tek will do it, but who knows what Duval and his cronies will do or say? Knowing them, I’ll be fighting niggas all season, and I really just ain’t got the time for all that.
“Jesssss, you’re killing me,” he groans and I cock my head to the side. “Why the fuck do you look so unhappy?”
“Unhappy? Who me? I’m happy. Can’t you tell?” I point to my face, and he runs his hand through his lustrous brown hair.
“Seriously, Jess. You truly have no idea how you look, huh?”
“I look normal, the fuck?” I huff, moving away from him.
“No, you look exactly like your nickname suggests… hell, worse,” he groans.
That name again…
“They can call me whatever the hell they want. I bet they can’t beat me up,” I raise a brow, making him laugh, and I smile even though I feel awful.
“True. Still…” he pauses and smooths a braid behind my ear. The action makes me uncomfortable, but I don’t move. However, when he reaches out toward my face, I back away, throwing him a warning glare, but he sighs and still reaches out, using his fingers to spread my lips.
“Whab arb you boin’?” I grimace while watching him beaming with twinkling eyes.
“What do you mean, ‘What am I doing?’ I’m showing the MVP of the game how to smile,” he chuckles and I smack his hand away, muffing his head. I picking my beer back up, knocking that bitch back, and immediately regretting my action having forgotten already how nasty this shit is.Ugghhhh!
“I know how to smile, Tek, I just don’t want to.” I roll my eyes, and he bumps my shoulder, picking up his own beer.
“But youshouldwant to. It’s a pretty smile… and if I’m honest, it’s one of the prettiest ones I’ve ever seen,” he smoothly states, and I frown.
“Alright, home skillet,” I joke. “It’s time for you to cut down on the beer.” I move the mug out of his reach. “That shit got you tweaking,” I joke, and he frowns.
“Whatever… I mean it, though, but I’ll take that as a W, considering I made you smile.” He reaches around me, dangerously close enough to make me raise a brow and question his intentions. I might smack the fuck out of him if it were another dude, but since it’s Tek… I just raise a brow and purse my lips because he definitely don’t have to do all that for no nasty ass beer.
“You could have simply asked for your mug, and I would have given it back to you, instead of reaching around me like that,” I let him know but he throws me a smile and I notice he didn’t pick up his mug, but mine instead. I can see where my lips had been and he places his mouth right in the same spot, taking a nice big ass swig, making me frown.
