“Well, that was quick,” Saint mutters, and I snort.
“Yeah… I blame them.” I adjust my collar, fix my hair, and hum one of Jessica’s favorite songs…I miss her already.
“Sure,” Saint scoffs, stretching and yawning, looking tired. “Anyway, about this love thing… so all I have to do is kidnap her? And then what?” He cocks his head to the side.
“Fuck her, I guess? Hell I don’t fucking know! I mean…I made friends with my Little Baby, but God if I could have fucked her sooner I would have.” I lick my lips. “But my Little Baby would not have allowed that to fly… so…” I shrug. “I just got close to her and stalked her.”
“Stalking…” He types in his phone… “Kid-nap-ping, yes, yes… I see. Great advice.”
“Of course I give great advice. Who the fuck do you think I am?” I smirk.
“Yeah, yeah. Anyway, mother told me to tell you to respond to her texts and calls.”
“I will when I have time.” I crack my neck.
“You have time now,” he points out and I cut my eyes at him.
“I’m busy right now.”
“Doing what?”
“Thinking about my Little Baby, of fucking course. What else is there to do?” I frown, scooching back when the black sludge bubbles over next to my feet.
“Be fucking for real right now, Frank,” he yawns. “We’re all turning into fucking demons and our parents are supposedly ourservants who have served us for millennia… you need tomaketime to think about something other than yourLittle Baby.” His voice drips with venom, and I look his way, making him hold up his hands. “Fine, but I’m being serious. There is only so much time you can run from this…”
“Who’s running? I just don’t give a fuck about it. Right now it’s not bothering me and I can control it, so why bother?”
“Why bother? Really?”
“Do I need to repeat myself?”
“No, it’s just… I find it strange that you don’t think turning into a fucking demon is cause for concern.”
“As long as I can fuck my woman and be there for her, then what the fuck else do I need?” I question and he throws his head back, sighing.
“If you say so. Anyway, I’m going to head out. Don’t forget to send my payment for rounding up the cattle for you.” He turns, waving, and I use my power to cover the sludge and make my way back to the car, where I swipe up my phone, checking the time, groaning.
Ughhhhhh! Still three hours… I need to find a better way to be closer to Jessica.

monday madness
Jessica
I step out of class, the late afternoon sun bouncing off the glass buildings, warm on my skin with my backpack slung over my shoulder, my ponytail swinging left and right from the pep in my step. I go to pull out my phone to text Skylar and Lawanda to tell them I’m on the way, when a familiar voice cuts though.
“Jess!”
I pause frowning and look up to see Tek is leaning against a pillar like he’s waiting for me, which throws me all the way the fuck off because he’s never waited for me after class. We usually only meet up on the field before practice or at the gym or some shit…
Uhm…why is he waiting on me?
“Hey Tek, what’s up!?” I ask, and he pushes off the wall and falls in step beside me, way too close. I side step, but he comes closer still, and an odd sense of foreboding comes over
“Why haven’t you been answering my texts?!” he blurts out, and I cut my eyes to him…
“What do you mean by why I’m not answering your texts? I haven’t gotten any messages from you.” I raise a brow and his lips turn down as he squeezes the strap of his backpack.
