“Nothing, I think I’ma have to take a rain check on the night,” I go to stand but Tek blocks me.

“Wait, is everything okay?” Tek frowns, and I try to move past him, but he blocks me again, making me glare.

“Tek, I’m not in the mood right now. Move,” I tell him, but he stands rooted in place, making me level him with a look because I’m tired of playing now. Shit, I’m all fucking frustrated… I’m shaking and need to be alone, so I need Tek to get the fuck outta my way.

“But Jes?—”

“Tek. Get. The. Fuck. Out. My. Way!” I growl, and this time it’s Duval who steps in.

“Tek, let her go.” He walks in between us, placing his hand gently on the lower part of my back and ushering me out.Honestly, it’s weird as hell to have Duval ass of all people help me…

Mannn… fuck this shit…

I turn my ass around, walk straight back to the bar, slam my phone down, grip my beer, and chug it down uncaring of the taste.UGGGHHH THIS SHIT IS NASTY!

“Wait Jess! Slow down!” Tek calls out, but it’s too late. I’ve already chugged the whole mug. “Shit! What did you do? You don’t drink, so you’re probably a lightweight!” He grasps his head, scowling, but I lift my hand and call for another.

“I’m doing as you told me and enjoying myself.” I gaze over to him, and Tek sighs when that bartender tries to hand me another glass. “Chill, I’m going to turn up and have a time tonight.”

“Yeah, chill!” Duval walks up and I cut my eyes to his annoying ass.

“Bro, what the fuck are you even still doing here?” I throw him a stank look, letting him know I still don’t like his fine ass.

“What? So the Arctic Beauty is reigning Queen on the field for once and now she thinks she can dictate where her subjects sit? Then how about you sit on my face?”

“And how about I beat the fuck out chu?” I raise a brow and he lift his hands. “Exactly don’t forget I fight niggas,” I cock my head to the side and he throws his head back, laughing.

“Chill, I’m only joking. We’re friends now, right?”

“I’d rather drag my bare coochie over hot coal than be friends with a nigga like you,” I roll my eyes in response and Tek snickers as Duval frowns.

“Damn, why do you have to be so cold, Jess? I even helped you out,” he points out and I curl my lip.

“You got bout one more time to throw that shit in my face and then we gone have to tussle,” I warn and he nods, turning around.

“Yeah, what was up with that? Why did you both come to the bus together?” Tek takes his seat next to me, watching me with expectation.

“It was no big deal. I needed a ride,” I answer him with a shrug, not wanting to talk about Frank.

“What do you mean it’s not a big deal?! Jess, how could you get in the car with an asshole like him?!” Tek frowns with his big, bushy brows.

“I’m not scared of Duval ass,” I roll my eyes smirking, even though deep down I don’t want to.

“Jess, are you being serious right now? You’re too casual about getting in the car with a man you barely know.” Tek shakes his head, and I smile, ruffling his thick hair.

“Don’t worry about me, bro.” I tap his shoulder trying to lighten the mood even though I feel like shit. “I can handle my own lightweight,” I let him know, but his expression grows dark.

“I’m not your bro, Jess,” Tek sneers and Duval smirks.

“Yeah, he wants to be mor—” Tek smacks him upside the head, making Duval grunt and sit forward, holding his head, glaring at Tek.

“Why the fuck are you still here?” Tek balls his fist, gritting out, cutting him off, but that only makes Duval scoff bitterly.

“Because I want to be. Why? You got a problem?” He cocks a brow, and I look between them, downing the glass in front of me, feeling myself grow a little woozy and tired, enjoying something to take my mind off the fact that I broke up with my nigga, who I haven’t seen or heard from in days and left me on read…Man what the fuck is life right now?

“Yeah, I have a fucking problem, and you need to get fucking lost,” Tek sneers and I sip my beer, wondering where the fuck this animosity is coming from between them.

I’d heard they were best friends before I came, and now they really act like they hate each other. Honestly, they bicker like an old married couple.
