Always having tabs on her and needing to know where she was going. “With work, I will be back and forth.”
Anjo smiled. “We spent too much time apart already.”
“And not spending another second.”
“I have a room at the shore house, so make sure you make it up for me when I come.” Zoya smiled as she stood up.
Goon damn near bit his lip off, and tried to bite her ass, and she swatted him away. His eyes were trained on Zoya the entire time. “Yeah, make our room up.”
“Gerald, are you gonna escort me home.”
He stood up, stretched and nodded. “The quicker you realize this is your life with me, then the better we’ll be, Mrs. Wraithe.”
“Better put me in a Wraithe if you want me to change my last name,” she flipped her hair, and went to hug Anjo and Capri.
Forty was never somewhere too long. “I’m out… I’m gonna find out some more shit on what’s going on with Mercer and where they keeping Thea… I know a few people, so gonna see what the fuck is up with Sigel.”
We hit the IG shake and then he headed out.
Capri crawled up in Blaze’s lap, and I looked over at them. “Twins, huh?”
“Double the blessings.”
“Uncle Meer loves her so so so much… He’ll always have double the blessings.”I thought of what Harley said that I missed.
When she said it, I didn’t think anything about it. It all made sense, and it caused me to smile as I watched my brother kiss his wife’s teeth. She rubbed his face, as they both were in so much love.
I rubbed Anjo’s stomach and kissed her head. The doctor said she was measuring small for how far along she was. Her stomach was there, you just had to feel it.
“Daddy’s girl,” I kissed her lips.
Capri leaned her head on Blaze. “God is really funny… both of us being pregnant at the same time is crazy.”
“Not crazy, a blessing.”
Blaze looked at his wife as he kissed her neck. “There was a time when Gams would worry that it would only be Peach after Harley passed. Said that she feared that neither of us would fall in love and make more Infernos.”
“Look at us… two at home and two inside me.” Capri said, as she looked over at me and Anjo. “One right there, one in your stomach, and two up in the sky looking down at you both.”
I kissed my wife’s lips as I wiped her tears. “A blessing.”

He was frustrated.
I watched as he rested his head on the wall after working out. He was able to walk around like he did before being shot, but there were moments when his balance wasn’t as steady as before. I watched as he put the weights down and tripped himself up because his balance wasn’t as steady as he thought it was.
Anger and frustration flashed through his face as he dropped the weights and rested his head against the wall, catching his breath. Quasim was stealthy, quiet, and always quick on his feet. Rebuilding his stamina and balance had been hard for him. It was unrealistic of him to think he would have been able to jump back up and heal in no time. Quasim was about to enterhis forties, and as we became older, our bodies required more healing.
When we first moved here, he was frustrated with not being able to stand for long or having to hold onto a wall when going to the bathroom. All of it frustrated him and made him hate Polo that much more. He felt robbed of his time and his body, the way it used to be.
As stubborn as he was, he refused to stay rested on the wall longer than he needed to, and stood tall quicker than he should have, causing him to stumble back a few inches. “Easy, Baby.”
I held onto him.
