Cupcakes.
Did she just say that? They’d both gone silent. Had she shocked them?
Then Jenner smiled at her and picked up some gel and a cloth. “Baby girl, we know you don’t have any experience. You don’t have to worry.”
“No, because we’re going to teach you everything you need to know.”
Holy. Heck.
She didn’t know whether to be excited or scared.
But they didn’t start teaching her then and there. Instead, Tobias held her as Jenner washed her.
Then Tobias dried her off before Jenner put her pajamas on her and they both tucked her into bed.
All right, they wouldn’t teach her anything now.
But soon . . .

Immy was going to commit murder.
And she knew just who she was going to murder.
Tobias and Jenner.
They were driving her insane. They’d arrived here five days ago and the only times she had been allowed out of this bed was to use the bathroom.
No more.
She was done.
Sure, she still had a sprained wrist and bruising. But she felt much better. Certainly well enough to get up and move around.
Even if all she got to do was sit on the front porch, it would be better than lying around in bed all the time.
Oh, they’d brought her things to do. She had coloring books, movies, card games, board games.
But there was only so much of that she could take. And could anyone really watch a movie without junk food?
Jenner was trying to kill her with all this healthy food. A Twizzler here and there never killed anyone.
Immy drew back the covers. She was supposed to be napping.
Right. How could she nap when she wasn’t tired?
Sneaking out of bed, she headed into the living area.
Hmm. Where were they?
Well, what did it matter? The good news was that they weren’t here to stop her. She grabbed a diet soda from the fridge and a blanket off the sofa and headed outside. It was the middle of the afternoon, but there was a definite chill in the air.
She sat on the rocking chair and drew the blanket around her. A sigh of pleasure left her as she took in her surroundings. She loved the mountain view here.
So beautiful.
So peaceful.
