“What’s the problem if she wants to get creative?” Tobias asked curiously.

“There’s nothing wrong with me getting creative,” she said as she started pulling out random items. “I’m a great cook. You liked my shortbread.”

Tobias patted his stomach. “Sure did.”

“Yeah, because she followed a recipe,” Jenner said to him quietly. “When Immy follows a recipe, everything tastes amazing. When she gets creative, well, it’s a bit hit and miss.”

“It is not! My creative meals are amazing!”

Such a lie.

Jenner shot her a look telling her that he wasn’t buying what she was trying to sell. And she hid a smile. This was going to be so much fun.

Tobias stareddown at Immy’s concoction.

He hadn’t been sure whether to believe Jenner when he said that Immy’s concoctions were hit and miss. He now thought the other man was being generous.

Because this definitely looked like a miss.

Then again, he wouldn’t be surprised if she’d deliberately turned this concoction into a mess.

Immy was so sweet and lovely.

But he could see she had another side.

And he had a feeling that this was her way of getting revenge.

It was a bit naughty, but he approved.

“What the fuck?” Sampson grumbled as he sat at the dining table. “Who let Immy make one of her concoctions?”

“Who pissed her off?” Abe asked as he sat next to Sampson. He looked a bit rough. There were dark marks under his eyes as though he hadn’t been sleeping. He was pale and thin.

Tobias knew he should probably feel sorry for him.

But, seriously, he needed to fucking get past it.

Sure, he’d been tasked with looking after Maeve. But he’d been caught out by surprise and he wasn’t trained for this shit.

“Whoever it was, they did a good job,” Isaiah commented. He didn’t look that great either. Apparently, he’d been doing some research into Maeve’s stalker.

Grant Robson.

Tobias didn’t like the stuff that Gray had found in Robson’s apartment. A notebook with some rules that were similar to the original Deity’s rules.

There was a copycat.

And the fact that Robson had gone after Maeve seemed to be some indication that Immy could be in danger too.

And that was something he definitely did not like.

Because no one got to threaten Immy. He’d be watching her even closer now. They all would be.

“Here we are. Last bit of food for family dinner.” Immy stared around at them all, beaming.

“Who are you getting revenge on?” Abe asked.

“Revenge? Whatever do you mean?” she asked innocently as Jenner stood and drew back her seat for her.
