He pulled out of me, handing me a tissue to help me clean up, and then we both got dressed, sending each other heated smiles as we did.
Before we went downstairs, I relieved myself in the bathroom and did the best I could to make sure my hair wasn’t wild. There wasn’t much I could do about the added brightness in my eyes or extra color in my cheeks.
When I reached the main floor, Tyler was already tucked into the table, an empty seat across from him. I slid into the chair, and he winked at me. Reminding me.
My cum’s dripping out of you in front of my whole family.
I shuddered, already looking forward to round two.
But I did the best I could to act like I wasn’t constantly turned on by their son and brother. Instead, we talked about football, something my brothers had prepared me for with endless hours of conversation.
My phone buzzed in my hip pocket. (Side note: leggings with pockets are the absolute best.) I drew it out below the table and saw my mom was calling me. Probably just to wish me a happy Thanksgiving. I pushed the button to send the call to voicemail.
My phone vibrated again, I assumed with the voicemail notification. But then there was another buzzing. A call from my dad. Were they really that worried about me being away from home?
I pressed the end button again, but then there was a fresh call. From my mom again.
I looked up at Tyler across the table, and he had a worried look on me. “Sorry,” I said. “I need to take this.”
His family was really sweet about it, and I stepped out on the back porch to answer the call. “Mom, what’s going on? Is everything okay?”
Mom’s voice shook as she said, “Your grandma fell again. She’s back in the hospital, but this time the break was bad. They think they’ll need to do a full hip replacement.”
My chest froze. I couldn’t breathe. Could hardly speak. “A hip replacement? At her age?”
“They think it will help with her pain and maybe her mobility, but the odds of her coming home this time aren’t looking great.”
I dropped into a chair at the patio table, shivering from the cold, from the news. This couldn’t be true. Grandma had been doing great on her walker. “What happened?”
“It was an accident. She tripped over one of Kenner’s toys.”
Anger made me grit my teeth together. Had no one been paying attention to Grandma? She’d barely gotten out of the hospital, and the second I left, she was back in. I knew what hip surgery meant, especially for someone her age. It meant more health risks, including pneumonia, which could be deadly.
My voice was raw. “I’ll find a flight and have Tyler—”
“No, you absolutely will not,” Mom said. “You are there with his family, and we have more than enough people here to help if needed. You can come back on Sunday like you had planned.”
“Mom, I—”
“Honey, you can’t fix this,” she said softly.
And that was the thing that broke me the most. My grandma probably wouldn’t be coming home. I’d missed her last Thanksgiving.
I glanced through the windows, seeing Tyler laughing with his family. I should have been home, but I wasn’t.
I was here.
“Tell Grandma I’ll see her as soon as we get back.”
“I will, honey,” Mom said.
And then she hung up, and I was alone on the porch, filled with worry and fear and something even worse...
Regret.
