In the days after our little session ofooh la la,things got stressful in my everyday life, but I still sent her text messages.

One of them was a poem.

I’m not some great wordsmith, but I do like puttering about sometimes for my own amusement.

Thus inspired, I sent her the following.

A beauty to see and a marvel to hear:

An angel inside of a woman to fear.

You walk like the dusk when the sun softly dies,

And carry great danger behind quiet eyes.

Your mind cleaves the dark like a lantern of flame,

And devils bow down as they whisper your name.

A storm wrapped in silk, with a spine made of steel,

You humble the world and bend all to your will.

Your soul blazes bright, for that’s what you are:

A beautiful, glorious, life-lighting star.

Iwas doing some mundane task when a text came in from Niccolo.

It was a poem…

And it took my breath away.

I put my hand to my mouth in shock.

No man had ever done anything so thoughtful for me…

Or so touching.

I texted back,Oh my God!

You like it?he replied.

I love it!

Got one for me?he asked with a smiley face emoji after it.

I thought for a second, then typed,I’m not very good at it, but I have a poem that conveys my true feelings for you.
