“They felt good,” I agree, walking off beside him. He hands me a water, and I attempt to twist the cap when I find out he’s already done so for me. Warmth explodes in my belly. “Thanks.”
He shrugs before reaching down and grabbing his sweatshirt and my sweats as we make our way to the front. As soon as we step outside, he wraps his sweatshirt around me again, and I can’t help but smile. I was hoping he wouldn’t take it back.
“So, tomorrow?” he asks.
“Tomorrow,” I confirm, butterflies swarming everywhere. I can’t believe I’m going to the Lip Sync Contest with West Brooks.
“I’ll pick you up in my nice, new truck.”
Out in the parking lot, his vehicle stands out. It’s shiny black, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s lifted. It looks like a beast. “It suits you,” I say. When we get closer, I laugh. “Seriously?”
On the side in a green decal,Hulkis written out along with West’s number. 53.
He shrugs. “They really wanted my sponsorship.”
I shake my head.I guess so.
He looks unsure for a moment. “Is it too much?”
“Nah. It’s perfect.”

“Dude,”Aidan grins.
I shut the dorm door behind me, nerves churning as I walk back into our shared room. “What?”
He raises his brows at me. “I didn’t even know you owned a shirt without a Bulldog on it.”
I lift my hand to flip him off, which only makes him smile wider. He knows how nervous I am. He’s been teasing me all fucking day, and it only got worse at practice.
Tonight, I’m going to the Lip Sync Contest with Kenna. Tomorrow is our season opener.
He stands and pats my arm. “Good choice. That gray really brings out your eyes.”
“Get off my dick.”
He howls. “You couldn’t handle me.”
I shake my head. “You meeting me there or what?”
“Yes, but if you think I’m playing your wingman all night so that it’s only me and McKenna talking, you’re crazy. I’ll just straight up walk away.”
“I talk to her,” I protest. He gives me a look. “She invited me, you know?”
I must be doing something right…
“Not sure how you pulled that one off.”
“My delightful personality,” I deadpan.
“Keep telling yourself that.”
I grab my wallet and keys off the bed and spin toward him again. “Don’t bring those stupid jersey chasers around Kenna.”
He gives me a mock salute. “I wasn’t happy about it either. Coach loved your idea, by the way.”
