“Fuck off. It just took me a minute. So you guys are what? Boyfriends?”
I feel a rush when he saysboyfriends, like I wish that were the case, but I dismiss it. “It hasn’t beenthatlong. We’re just having a good time. Can you all stop embarrassing me in front of the enemy?”
“DoesAlpha Theta Mualready know?” Ryan asks, stressing Lance’s frat name in a particularly condescending way—youknow, the way we usually talk about it.
“You guys better stop using that tone about my house while I’m over,” Lance says.
“Or what you gonna do, little man?” Ryan challenges, standing taller—not that he needs to with all that muscle packed on.
I glare at my fellow fratbro, who clearly gets the message as he gulps. “Okay, okay…we can be cool while he’s over.”
“Damn right you can be.”
“You don’t look cool. You look like you just pissed yourself,” Lance tells him, indicating the milk stain, which gets Ryan roaring.
“Okay, maybe he’s all right,” Ryan says.
“Hey, this could work out,” Jaxon adds. “Now we have an in with the Alpha Theta Mu guys. Might actually get a date over there.”
“Who the fuck have you been eyeing over there?” Ryan asks. “Moaning Marty?”
The guys get laughing, but Lance says, “Hey, no one talks about my friend like that.”
It doesn’t surprise me that Lance managed to lead a frat his sophomore year because even my guys quiet, accepting his authority as word.
And then Dax heads in.
“Morning, guys. Hey, Lance.” He offers us fist bumps, smirking in a way that suggests he had a hunch about us, at least with the way we were acting last night. “That’s one of my favorite shirts of yours, Ty,” he teases before heading to the fridge.
And yes, I was clearly right that he would be the least weirded out of all the guys.
“Now that we’ve made things as awkward as possible withyour house,” Lance says, “I guess I should get back to my place, start breaking the news to my guys. I’ll see you later?”
I love knowing that’s true, that there won’t be any sneaking around anymore. Next time, he can just head on in, and we can do whatever the hell we want.
“You’re damn right you’ll see me later.”
I proudly plant a kiss on his lips, giving zero shits about the guys seeing me, and as I pull away, I notice all the guys but Dax are a mix of surprise and amusement.
After Lance leaves, the guys are silent until Jaxon finally says, “It would be kind of funny if this was like an epic prank, though, right?”
His comment breaks the tension, the room erupting into laughter once again.
And just as I figured, the guys are cool.
Maybe a little confused, but definitely cool.

I’m buzzing withexcitement by the time I get back to Alpha Theta Mu.
Not only did I get to have an amazing time with Ty last night, but now we don’t have to keep our secret anymore. I loved seeing how he didn’t pull away when we were around his fellow Sigma Alphas. How he kissed me goodbye in front of them. But mostly, I love that this means we can stay over at each other’s houses whenever we want without having to make excuses or keep being busy with feigned TaskFrat shit. At least, once I tell the guys about us.
Marty’s in the living room, doing homework, so I grab him and we head up to find Ash because of course I can’t disclose this without my best bro.
I skip some steps as I head up the stairs.
