“You need to go help Selene, Bailey,” I remind him reluctantly.
He shudders and stumbles back, pulling his jeans up.
As soon as he’s clothed, I reach for him, stroking his cheek with my thumb.
“Stop stressing so much about who you are, Bailey, it will come. I’m just glad you’re here.”
The wariness in his eyes fades, and he leans in, pressing his forehead to mine.
“You’re mine now, Kingston.”
“Forever and always.”
He kisses me softly before he pulls away. I watch Bailey leave. He glances back and smiles, and, as quickly as it warms me, it sends a streak of guilt that I quickly suppress.
I answer my phone that has been silently ringing in my pocket.
“Yes?”
“You’re out. If you don’t get your snake asses here right now, the three of you are out.”
I wince. “Sure. We’ll be there soon, Andy.”
He lets out a low, menacing growl.
We walk into theclub rooms, a factory that has been renovated to allow a cool and cushy place for the Despair MC members to hang out.
Rave turns towards us, spreading his arms wide and smiling. He’s a massive alpha with an easy countenance and a quick smile.
“Looky looky, the VP, Road Captain, and Sergeant-At-Arms have come crawling back from obscurity. How is the undercover life, boys?”
Mael laughs, and the two clash in a semi aggressive hug that turns into a wrestling match.
Toad slaps me on the back. “Boss ain’t happy.” His green hair is slicked back today.
“I know.”
“Is it true?” Millions asks.
Millions has the biggest size of any alpha here, and he’s only a beta. But he’s got the funniest sense of humour.
“Is what true?” Edric asks.
“Did you guys bond Baby Bailey?”
I wince. “He’s going to kill everyone who calls him that.”
Frankston, a pint-sized alpha with the biggest personality, grabs his chest and staggers back. “Oh, god, you did bond him. Andy is going to kill you. What am I writing on your tombstone?”
“He’s not going to kill us,” Edric says confidently.
“How can you be so sure?” Andy booms and stalks through the crowd of alphas and betas.
“Because you love us,” I say with a wild grin.
Andy scowls hard. “I sent my son out into the world to get away from this life, and you dragged him right back in.”
“Isn’t it Bailey’s choice where he wants to be?” Mael asks quietly.
