Page 154 of A Soul to Steal

Any human in his position would have freaked out.

But it’s different now.

He wanted Aleron to be... himself.

Gideon didn’t want him to hold back anymore, so that Aleron could win his heart naturally. Even with the distance betweenthem, he’d already started doing so. Aleron, in his own way, could be rather endearing and charming, even while acting all shy and nervous. That, too, was cute.

He wanted to see what it truly looked like to be loved by a Duskwalker.

Right now, Aleron just felt like his friend.

But what if he no longer... wants me?This thought had started pestering him.

He’d started worrying that Aleron was putting up with his presence, simply because he was forced to through their bond. In the same way Gideon had forced himself to accept their relationship at first.

Maybe Aleron no longer wanted anything more than distant friendship. Gideon wouldn’t blame him for that, since it was his own fault.

Aleron had obviously wanted more in the beginning, considering he’d woken up wrapped in his arms and wings. There were also the dream memories of this Duskwalker...insidehim, in a different world. Aleron’s purple tongue slipping across his neck, his lips, and inside his mouth to brush against his own. Ravishing him inside and out.

Now that they no longer alarmed him, Gideon was growing curious about doing all these things with him. Was the licking Aleron’s form of kisses? He wouldn’t mind receiving a few to see if he liked them – his dead self seemed to.

I guess I need to be brave. He needed to lead and accept where that may take them.

“Aleron,” Gideon called, hoping he could start them with at least a cuddle.

The wing blanketing him swiftly pulled away as Aleron rolled to his front to escape. With a quiet scream, Gideon rolled over when his other wing slipped out from under him. He’d thought he’d been lying on the ground!

“Was it too much?” Aleron quietly asked, before looking around apprehensively. “It began to snow, so I did not wish for you to lie directly upon the ground.”

Annoyed that Aleron was being insecure and meek, he sat up and placed his elbow on his knee. Gideon scratched at the side of his scalp while averting his gaze, and ruffled his hair in the process.

How can someone that big act so unsure? The moment he asked himself that question, he knew he wouldn’t like the answer.

“No, it was fine,” Gideon stated, looking around at the thin layer of snow. “It was actually really warm. Thank you, I really appreciate it.”

He forced his negative emotions to leave him as he let out a deep exhale. He braved a glance at the nervously fidgeting Aleron. One step at a time.

Unfortunately for Aleron, he was about to learn that when Gideon set his mind to something, he could become very bold. A nervous boulder rolling down a hill, taking a leap of faith, even if it was a poor mistake.

Every opportunity Gideon had, he would bridge the gap between them. He would like to do this in a way that didn’t overwhelm the Duskwalker. He wanted Aleron to be comfortable, and to only have Gideon’s touch if it was something the Duskwalker desired.

I could ask him...He snorted a laugh at himself. But I also want to take it slow because I’m also kind of unsure. Not of Aleron, but of what he wanted to do with him.

Gideon didn’t want to kiss him and then for Aleron to get over-excited and suddenly try to ram whatever kind of cock he had in his ass. He was human, and it had been... years since he’d been penetrated by something bigger than a finger. Beau was usually the receiver, and although Gideon had absolutelyno qualms in being below someone, he’d need patience after so long.

Apparently Rome wasn’t built in a day, and his hole wouldn’t be able to take a seven-and-a-half-foot Duskwalker in a night.

But the fact I’m thinking about it... means I want to try now, right? An idea lit in Gideon’s mind. His ears grew hot as he peeked at Aleron again, who stood and flapped his wings to dust off the snow, blissfully unaware of where Gideon’s thoughts had gone.Unless I can take him.

All his blurry, fragmented memories were of himself being pumped into. Was Aleron just opposed to it being the other way around?

He frowned. But why do I get the impression there’s another reason?A memory tried to arise, a conversation, but it was so damn murky their voices were inaudible.

Ah, screw it. I’ll figure it out later.

He stood and brushed off his pants, since forest debris collected on them. In the meantime, he noted their campfire still burning, as if Aleron had thrown more wood onto it before laying them down. There were only a few glowing coals of wood left, but Gideon still rounded up some snow and dumped it on top of them.

Last thing they needed was to start a wildfire not even a kilometre from Fishket.
