Page 27 of A Soul to Steal

Aleron didn’t understand how or why the human appeared perplexed and troubled at the same time.

He even stopped leading Aleron forward, halting their walk to gawk up at him. He couldn’t help turning his skull away, scratching at his snout from the shy, fluffy feeling sprouting in his chest.

Is it not normal to ask such a question? How else was he supposed to instigate touch such as this? Aleron would like to try this sex act with Gideon.

He had many reasons for this.

He was intrigued by the physical connection, and what it could possibly mean. His kindred had explained that it was pleasurable, not just in body but also in heart. Ingram said it made him feel closer to Emerie, and he described how he’d been obsessed with touching, tasting, and feeling her essence against his own.

Unfortunately, just as he was explaining the act to Aleron, Emerie had shouted at Ingram to stop. Apparently, it was a private thing they shouldn’t be discussing with each other?

But private meant... intimate, didn’t it? A special act thatshould be shared only with themselves.

He wanted to try this special act with Gideon.

Especially since the more time he spent with the human, the more obsessed he became with him.

It’d started off small.

The wind would shift his short, brow-length hair slightly to the side, or the tips of strands would catch behind one ear. Ears that Aleron examined constantly, wondering why they turned pink and how he could make them do so – especially since Gideon’s green eyes would sparkle at the same time. His eyes were two pools of forest saturated in sunshine; their brightness was warm and welcomed a creature such as him deeper into their depths. His golden skin was starting to look tasty for some strange reason. Aleron knew by the lack of scent coming from Gideon that he’d taste of nothing, which had begun to bother him.

He wanted to know what he smelt like, tasted like. His desire to lick had come from Ingram explaining that Emerie’s scent was naughty and delicious. It made his kindred want to lick her all over.

I often licked Ingram’s face with affection. Is this why he suddenly craved doing it to Gideon?

He had muscles that Aleron was now aware he himself lacked. He looked stronger than Aleron and yet was undeniably weaker in strength. Despite this, Gideon had offered to protect him.

It had made his chest hurt so much with joy, he’d almost clawed at it.

The only people who had offered or even tried to protect him were his kindred and the Witch Owl. Although he didn’t want to need protecting, it was nice that Gideon was willing to fight for his sake – just as Aleron was now willing to do so for him.

Even the way the male’s clothing rustled around his body was like an intimate dance, occasionally revealing hair that coveredhis chest. He also noted hair on the backs of his hands, wrists, and forearms. It often made him cheerful that he and Gideon were furry like each other – perhaps it meant he wouldn’t mind Aleron’s fur and feathers.

Even the ball at the centre of his throat, which bobbed up and down regularly, stole his attention.

And his voice... he had a wonderful voice that often soothed Aleron’s mind. He’d been alarmed by this at first, wondering if the human held tricksy magic like the Witch Owl, but he’d long ago discovered the truth. He just liked it whenever he spoke, and the subtle depth in his voice was perfect. It didn’t grate on his nerves. It wasn’t truly deep, but it lacked the higher pitch that Emerie’s held.

Gideon’s height was also greater than that female, which pleased him. He was easier to speak to and stare at, despite only coming to the centre of Aleron’s chest.

What he didn’t like was how Gideon tried to pull his hand from his own when he’d just offered it. Annoyed, he refused to relinquish his prize.

Gideon eventually sighed, realising it was useless, and he tugged his arm to move them on.

They were almost at the other side of this village. What had once taken all of Aleron’s short attention span had been completely and utterly stolen by this male. Even just the top of his head, and how his hair flopped over, took his interest.

After many moments of him having a very pensive expression, his lips tight and his eyes narrowed, he finally glanced to his right. Aleron’s chest sprouted little tickly fluff balls from just this male’s gaze on him.

“Okay. I guess I should askwhyyou would want to have sex with me?” Even though his question was stern, there was a quietness to it.

Aleron’s tail feathers spread slightly, his wings shifting in delight, when the human’s little ears pinkened. Finally giving into his craving, he reached forward with his free hand so he could brush the back of his foreclaw against one of the arches.

“Because I like you.” It was the best he could do to describe the way he felt. There wasn’t a single thing he disliked.

Gideon gasped and slapped his free hand over the ear he’d caressed, incidentally crossing his arm over his neck. His eyes grew wide, as though startled, just as his cheeks pinkened as well.

Realising his touch had elicited a stronger response, Aleron wondered if it were possible to make the male’s entire body flush. Was this provoking enjoyable? And just where else on his body could Aleron touch that could deepen the colourful reaction?

He very much wanted to find out.
