But I was pretty sure he didn’t like me crossing my arms over my chest and raising an eyebrow at him. Yeah, he better fucking spill already.

He let out a slow, shaky breath. “Yes, I smelled a man on you when I saw you in the elevator. Whatever. Of course you’re active. You’re a beautiful woman who many would want. It’s not my business. I just didn’t know who I smelled until today.”

“That’s none of your business,” I hissed.

“No, it’s not, but when I realized it was Dr. Fitz and he was very blatantly flirting with a nurse after surgery—”

I snorted. “Just one?” I mentally winced that I was too tired to watch my mouth.

His eyes flashed shock. “I asked to speak to him alone and asked him if he was stupid being so obvious and daring to cheat on you.” He bobbed his head when I sighed. “I’m sorry. Clearly—”

“Clearly, it wasn’t your place, and you shouldn’t stick your nose in my private life.” I growled when he simply stared at me as if needing me to confirm whatever Tommy had told him. “Who I’m fuck buddies with doesn’t concern you, Dr. Clark. As you said, I’m a grown woman with needs and—”

“I never thought you would put up with that shit,” he whispered, sounding almost disappointed.

“Excuse me?” I seethed, itching to slap this little shit which surprised me.

“I’ve been here like two seconds and I already know his reputation. Why would you ever be involved with such a cad?” He looked me up and down and shook his head. “I just couldn’t picture it and it’s shocking.”

I ran my tongue over my teeth and tried to calm my anger, reminding myself that both of us were running on fumes and too much adrenaline from the day. “Dr. Fitz and I both know what we are and have an understanding. You’re not involved in any way. So, if you’re done judging, I have a hospital to run, Dr. Clark.” I turned on my heel and left.

His next words almost froze me in place. “You deserve more respect and to be treated better than that even if it’s casual. Others would treat you better and give you what you need. Gladly.Desperately. Don’t take scraps from an asshole when he’s not worthy to walk the ground under you, much less be in your bed.”

I spun around, but he was already walking the other way and I could see the anger in his aura. Hell, his head was so hot that I thought steam might actually come out of his ears.

What the hell did Tommy say in response to piss Clark off so bad?

The day was too long—too crazy. I hadn’t been involved in anything like this in over a decade and I forgot how exhausting the constant rushes of adrenaline were when dealing with a catastrophe.

It was racing through my body after getting that shifter back who crashed out when they’d come through the portal. I was blocking all the blood and trying to refocus so I could get back to my job. I took in a deep breath and caught a scent that was familiar… And made my wolf growl.

Huh?

I followed it around the corner and realized it was a man. It didn’t click for another several moments and then it hit me hard that it was the man I’d smelled on Ms. Reed in the elevator. This was her lover.

Not your business, Ha-joon.

I went to turn away and leave it alone. I really did, but he didn’t think anyone was behind him as he leaned in to talk to the nurse next to him.

And his hand moved to her ass… Something she liked from the way she leaned into him as well.

Was this asshole for real? He was not only being a cliché cad doctor but had the balls to cheat onEllie Reedof all people?

I saw the name on his scrubs in the reflection of the mirror and wanted to groan. This was Dr. Tommy Fitz? The hospital slut that I’d already heard so much about?

I didn’t make the decision to say anything. I didn’t even—everything was pumping in me and I just acted. I was just there behind them and my mouth moving, my brain trying to catch up. “I need to speak with you a moment, Dr. Fitz, since you have time.” It amused me when both of them jumped, but the way they separated at being caught disgusted me.

“Sure thing, Dr…” he said as he turned me. “The new guy.”

“Dr. Ha-joon Clark from London,” I filled in for him, seeing in his eyes that he knew exactly who I was. Petty git.

We both noted the interested look the nurse gave me and he wasn’t happy, so that explained his attitude. Seriously, what a git. He thought I was moving in on his hunting ground?

Yeah, I wasn’t that type of asshole doctor.
