“My bed is bigger, and we’re going to need the extra room tonight.” Alec nips my jaw, climbs out of my lap, and offers me a hand to stand up. The velvet pants highlight his erection and my base instincts threaten to take over. “Come, show off what you do to me.” His eyes are dancing and his dimples taunt me.
I groan. “You’re insatiable.”
Alec’s hands land on my shoulders as he leans in with his lips, brushing my ear. “You love dressing me up, taking me out, and watching people lust over me.”
I nod without shame or remorse. “I do.”
He lights up the room, becoming the center of attention, and I can watch while no one pays attention to me. It’s fantastic.
“You get off on it. Making me look pretty for you.” His teeth graze my earlobe.
“Yes, knowing everyone in the room is looking and you’re coming home with me.” My head bobbles.
“Then stop stalling and take me the fuck home.” Alec presses a chaste kiss to my lips then backs away.
“Don’t pretend you don’t love all the eyes on you.” I smack him on the ass as I stand. “Ask me nicely and I might fit taking you home into my schedule.”
“I’m rubbing off on you,” he grumbles.
“Have I told you how much fun it is to tease you?” I deadpan as we make our way out in the cold.
“Viking, face it, you didn’t know how to tease someone or even have fun before you met me. You were a broody, grumpy, hot guy in the corner glaring at everyone. Now you’re the broody, sometimes funny, hot guy, staring adoringly at me while sitting in the corner.”
“I love to stare at you.” I tuck him into my side as we hail a yellow cab.
In the car, we’re sitting on top of each other for warmth. That’s the story I tell myself. The driver has the heat blasting, but we need each other’s body heat because of the frigid air. His suit is soft and I can’t keep my hands from stroking his thighs.
The hand Alec’s resting on my inner thigh inches up and I grab his wrist. He chokes on a gasp as I force his hand over my hard-on. He shakes with laughter. “You were not expecting that, were you?” I breathe in his ear.
I haven’t thought this through because Alec digs his fingers into the material of my pants and has my cock in hand. It’s indecent and I grunt as he strokes me.
“I find the unexpected exhilarating. Don’t you, Viking?”
I should’ve known better than to play with fire. Alec can’t resist a challenge and he’spurefire. But he has me. I don’t care if I get burned. One day, possibly tonight, I’m going to go up in flames and thank him for the burns.
I’m silent, frozen in place. If Alec decides I’m going to come in my pants, I won’t stop him. I don’t recognize myself. I don’t do public displays of affection. I’ve never considered public sex.
“Damn, Viking, look what you made me do.” He releases my dick and pets it like he’s patting a dog on the head.
We ride back to his place with my forehead turned into his shoulder, embarrassed to look at the driver. Alec swipes his credit card, and he’s hauling me out of the cab and up to his apartment.
Hours and hours of taming our lust has unleashed a torrent of passion. Alec has me pinned to the wall next to the door, his hands trying to touch all of my body at once, along with his lips.
Then his bottomless brown eyes captivate me. I fall into them, eager to answer their plea. Alec needs control most of the time. It’s ingrained in his psyche for survival. I’m more than willing tosurrender my body, my soul, my pleasure—trusting him with all of me.
But being in control all the time comes with a price of a heavy burden.
Tonight, Alec’s eyes can’t bear the burden. His trust is a precious gift, and I intend to honor that trust. All. Night. Long.
With my knees bent, Alec and I are the same height and I hook my arms under his so when I straighten, he’s a couple of inches off the ground. I swallow his moan, spurred by dirty intentions and reading my man’s needs. There are endless possibilities, but the couch beckons me. He should be comfortable while ceding control.
Marching across the room with Alec dangling above the ground, I growl in his ear right before setting him on his feet. “Strip.”
Alec’s velvet jacket flies across the room, and I hear a detached button ping. When I recross the room, dead bolting the door, his breath catches. I’m telling him this is our safe space, and he hears me. He tips over, stripping off his pants and socks at the same time. I kneel in front of him, guiding him to sit on the couch. There’s such power in kneeling before the man I love.
The thought is an explosion of truth. I love Alec.
I will fight for this man, for a chance at forever. The reality is I’ll most likely have to fight him and his past. But he’s worth it. If it ends in a shattered heart, being with him is worth it.
