When I arrivefor my shift on Sunday morning, Christian greets me in the car park with a nod and a takeaway coffee.

"How's your weekend been?" he asks.

I nod to thank him for the coffee as I climb out of my car. "Good. You?"

He shrugs. "About the same as always. Swimming lessons for Hope at the crack of fucking dawn, piano lessons for Dylan two hours later. Then spent the afternoon doing all the shit Alex needed me to do that I was putting off while on night shift."

"You make family life sound so riveting, man," I reply, shaking my head.

"Yeah, sometimes I wonder what life would be like if we didn't have the kids."

I chuckle. "A lot quieter, that's for sure. But you love the family life."

He sighs. "Yeah... although I really miss sleep. And sex... GodI miss sex."

I almost choke on the mouthful of coffee I've just taken. "Surely you still get some sex?"

He rolls his eyes. "Yeah, like once a week. But before we had Dylan, we were at it like rabbits night and day. Now we're both tired all the time."

"Yeah... Definitely happy with my life choices right now."

He eyes me with interest. "Why do I get the feeling you're getting some?" I smirk, taking another mouthful of coffee, and he groans. "Man, I'm fucking married and can't get laid, and you're out there living your best life?"

I shrug. "Sorry, man."

He shakes his head as we start getting everything prepped ahead of our shift. "So, who is it? I didn't even know you'd met someone. Or is it multiple someones? Give me something, mate. Let me live vicariously through you."

I laugh. "Since when did you become such a gossip?"

"Since you started getting some and I need entertainment." He shoots me a grin as he climbs into the back of the truck.

I shake my head. "I don't kiss and tell, you know that."

"Fine. At least let me know if it's one or multiple? Give me something?"

I smirk. "Man, when would I have time for multiple women?"

He points at me, a triumphant grin on his face. "Aha! So, it's just the one! Is it just banging, or are you into her?"

"Dude, seriously, do I need to call Alex and tell her you're spending too much time with her book club?"

He glares at me. "Don't you dare. That is the highlight of my month half the time. But also, for real, why are you being so cagey about this?"

I shrug. "It's only new. We've been on one date."

"Yeah, one date where you obviously got lucky afterwards."

Sighing, I rub my eyebrow. "If I give you one little bit of information, will you let this go?"

"Depends on what the one thing is."

I'm quiet for a moment while I run through the checklist to make sure we have everything onboard, and I can feel his eyes boring into the side of my head. Clearly, he really needs to get out more if he's this eager for information.

"Dude, come on, it does not take you this long to count shit."

"Oh my god, man!" I shake my head, torn between amusement and annoyance. "We went out on Friday night and then she stayed at mine."
