"I'll get you water, my dear. I'll be right back." Alfred stepped closer to Valentina, kissed her on the forehead before he walked out of the room.
"Anyone out there?" Simon said for the tenth time, placing a hand on his earpiece to make sure it's still turned on and working right. Again, it is. "Can anyone hear me!?"
Nothing. Just beeping sounds.
He was mad at this point. He walked out of his position and angrily went in search of those damn officers Adeladin gave to him. Impotent fools! Why aren't any of them respomding to him anymore!?
The morning was becoming clearer, which allowed him to see well without using the night-vision contacts.
He was surprised to pass the first stationary, only to see all the three officers he'd stationed there dead.
Alert now, he raised his gun, corked it and began walking carefully out. Everywhere he stationed his men were filled with the corpses of the soldiers.
Damned animal monsters! Just how many of them are out here!?
He's gonna kill all of them! He will find them first and he will—
Claaaaaaang!!!
Simon heard the loud sound at the same time, he felt the impact of it at the back of his head. White filled his vision and the ground suddenly rose to meet him.
The loud thud of his body hitting the ground was the last thing he heard before he lost consciousness.
When he woke, he was in a dark place, tied to a chair. His hands were tied behind his back.
And when his eyes opened completely, he was completely surprised at who stood before him.
"You...." Came the hoarseness of his voice.
CHAPTER 12.THE ONE WHO WAS THOUGHT DEAD.
Alphose held the head of the last Wolfhunter and twisted his neck. The sound of cracks was heard as his head twisted to the back.
As he convulsed, dying, Alphose went in search of the leader, the Wolfhunter told him about before he'd killed him. Before he'd killed him, he'd questioned him.
They came here to kill him and capture Ismena, just like he suspected. But the man said something strange.
"We have orders to get the Successful out of that hospital room and take her back with us!" He'd confessed in terror while pleading for his life.
He had referred to Ismena as the Successful.
What is the Successful?
Alphose had no idea what it is, but he had plans to find out before he eventually kills the leader of this particular pack and put an end to theirhunt. Bastards think they can mess with him and a lady under his protection?
His cougar howled in rage inside him, still hungry for more fights.
But, Alphose was surprised when he got to the location given by the Wolfhunter but no one was there. He could not find the leader.
He searched and searched. Their leader, who the Wolfhunter had called Simon, was nowhere to be seen.
"Are you sure you don't want to come to the hospital and have that leg checked out?" The human doctor asked worriedly, "This will not be enough to heal that wound—"
"I am sure," Wolfaraine stated firmly, outstretching his hand towards Alpha Degar. He was lying on his bed, in his bedroom while the doctor hovered over him.
The leopard Alpha handed the documents to him, without saying a word. He was worried because he knows the Alpha King is in more pain than he's letting on. He is just too stubborn to admit it.
Degar cannot imagine being shot by a bullet that contains rhodium. Twice. In the same leg.
