Page 19 of Cove City: Vol. I

She sucked her teeth getting out of the car before I could help her. I walked over to the lounge door and opened it. When the blue lights illuminated beyond the tinted door, I could seeher head turn slightly to peek inside, with a hint of curiosity on her face. She slowly eased my way and stepped inside with me behind her. The R&B music wasn’t too loud but loud enough to set the mood. Once we walked past the entry walls, her eyes lit up.

Bishop and Bleek had worked hard to transform this place. It changed from resembling a strip club to a sleek five-star luxury lounge, with velvet blue seating adding to the blue lights. Each table featured expensive dining ware and candles that complemented the blue ambiance. Tuesday’s head whipped around to look at me. All I did was wink.

I walked over to a table, making sure she sat first, then I did. I began to feel bad because the only type of dates Sasha and I had been on were expensive hotels, in which we’d fuck all night. Although this wasn’t an official date, it made me think. Had Sasha somehow prepared me for something else? There was so much she and I needed to talk about. I tried shifting my brain from Sasha back to Tuesday.

“This place is beautiful. How did you know about this?”

I leaned forward and placed my elbows on the table. “My best friend owns the place.”

She smiled. “Ah, I see.”

“What? You judging me?”

She threw both her hands up, “No judgment here.”

“So, what questions do you want to ask me? Before you start, let me say you can’t come around doing what you did earlier. I’m not sure where you’re from but here in the Cove shit like this is snitching.”

I watched her as she watched me. Everything about Tuesday was different. The way she talked, dressed, carried herself, and even looked. She was different all around, and a part of me had become intrigued. She leaned forward and placed one hand to the side of her mouth as if whatever she had to say was juicy asfuck. My eyes traveled down to her lips. They were full, luscious, and begging me to kiss them.

“I’m from Flawda, baby. I know what a snitch ass nigga is and you’re not one of them.”

I burst out laughing because she did a thing, a little twang fell from her lips. I leaned back in the chair and lowered my eyes on her. I gave her a slight nod, “Gone head and ask your questions. You got it.”

She leaned back, crossed her legs, and smirked. “Why is the Cove and Lake Hill at war?”

I knew this would be the first question she would ask. The blood that seeped in the streets of the Cove was all due to Angela. How would I explain that my best friend’s mom and his girlfriend’s mom started a war? As I began to think of the words, my eyes landed on Sasha coming around the wall, looking so good, but that nigga was behind her.

I couldn’t even think straight. The further she walked, the more my eyes moved along with her. Sasha wore an orange dress that looked like it was painted the fuck on. Her ass sat high, and her hair was down. I’d never seen her with her fucking hair down. I watched as that nigga Zeus’s hand graced the small of her back slowly easing down toward her ass and he squeezed. I wanted to take off on the nigga. The sound of Tuesday’s clap brought me back.

“Who is she?” I heard her ask.

I had been so focused on Sasha, I now had Tuesday questioning me.

What was a nigga to do.

Since Freckles wanted to go out, I figured what better place to take her than a place she knew all too well. When we pulled up to Seven To Da Cove, she immediately shot me a look. “Zeus!”

I shrugged. “What baby? Let’s go listen to some music and eat good then I can take you home and suck on that pussy for the rest of the night.” I winked.

“You’re trying to be funny. Zeus, promise me you won’t do anything stupid.”

“Yeah, what you said.”

I hopped out of the car, went around, and opened her door. When Freckles got out and stepped in front of me, all I could do was shake my head. Her body was something many women had to pay for. I allowed her to lead the way as we entered the building. I couldn’t lie the vibe inside was decent but had nothing on Diamond’s shit. We came around the corner, and the first person I landed on was that bitch, Pierre. I watched as he watched Freckles. I thought I saw the nigga drool and I was ready to knock those funky ass golds down his throat.

As we were about to be seated, I made sure to slide my hand down Freckles back and squeeze her ass. I wanted that nigga to know her pussy belonged to me. This ass was mine. Freckles giggled as she slowly sat down. When she turned and saw him, she quickly looked at me.

“I see his ass,” I gritted.

Freckles cleared her throat. “Zeus, baby, he was bound to be here. This is his best friend’s place.”

“Fuck him and that nigga. When are you going to get it that me or my niggas aren’t scared of them?”

I could tell she was starting to get uncomfortable, so I decided to ease up. “Look, I’m not here to cause any problems, baby. Let’s have a good time.”

She nodded. “I need a drink.”

I reached out to the guy standing near us to get his attention, “Excuse me,” I called out.
