Sasha wasn’t going to back me into a corner. My phone vibrated. I reached into my purse to see an unknown number pop up. I wasn’t sure who it was, but I ignored it. I focused my attention back on them. “So is the Zoo some sort of crew?”
Zaria’s head snapped my way. “Baby, they're not just a crew, they are brothers and now have a sister.” She looked at Sasha and winked.
Now it was adding up. They were the bikers from the night I had been shot and who were outside of Bishop’s store. I turned to Indigo. “Your boyfriend is he a—”
She laughed. “Girl, hell no. Bishop is not a biker. Bishop is the Prince of the Cove. He’s well known around the city.”
I nodded slowly. “So basically, your men,” I said, pointing at Zaria and them. “And—”
Sasha jumped in again. “Both your men are beefing. Yes.”
My phone vibrated again. I pulled it out and stood, “I’ve got to take this. Thank you, ladies.”
Zaria smiled. “Next time, knock. I would hate to have to shoot you.”
I stepped out of the living room and back outside. “Hello?”
“Tuesday, where are you?” Best asked.
“I’m out getting my story.”
She sighed. “I get it, but you need to come into the office. You can’t just be out there roaming the streets.”
“Best, I’m—”
“Tell Best I said hi,” I heard Sasha’s voice behind me.
I quickly hung up on her as I spun toward Sasha. “Yeah, doesn’t feel good to be followed right. Listen, I want you to know I do not care what you and Pierre do. He and I have been done. So, whatever you think you’re about to get out of me, you’re not.”
“I wanted to meet you out of my own curiosity, not because of Pierre.”
“Right. Well, do me a favor and keep him that way.”
I noticed a slight bruise on her face. “What happened?”
She shied away, “None of your business. Just keep Pierre away.”

I pulled up to Cove City Press to a group of people standing outside surrounding something. They seemed so intrigued that I stumbled to get out of my car and go toward them. When I reached the group of people, I squeezed my way to the front to see a car with a big blue bow on it. Best was standing near it. I moved closer to her to be nosy. “Best, this is your Benz?” I asked, looking at the midnight blue Benz with envy.
She turned toward me with her quirky smile as she pushed her glasses from her nose. “No, Tuesday, this is for you. I knew the only way to get you here was to tell you that you were required to be here.”
I gasped because I couldn’t believe it. A squeal left me as I opened the car door, sitting in the driver’s seat. When I glanced over, there was a card:
Tuesday,
Man, you know a nigga not good with words. Although you fucked my shit up, I couldn’t see you out here scrambling. This is my gift to you. New job, new car!
Signed,
Pierre.
As a smile eased on my face, I began to think about what Sasha said. Was Pierre my man?Couldn’t be, or was he? I had become so confused. I couldn’t see a man buying a woman a car, and she was not his girl. I let out a sigh of frustration because now I didn’t know if I wanted to accept this gift. I came to Toussaint for work, and somehow, I ended up becoming Tuesday in the Wizard of the Cove.
The last set of bikes arrived at the lot. I stood glancing around at my dealership. Opening a business here wasn’t my first thought, but being here and not having my own money coming in was not an option. Chevy had set shit up for us in the past and all we had to do was make sure things ran smoothly. Now it was time we learned to make shit shake on our own because he had a family to take care of. It was a part of us growing as men. I knew when Dio got here, he would need something he could call his own. So, I opened Zu’mers Dealership, hoping it would be something he could fall back on if needed.
I pulled out my phone to call the driver I had gotten for Dio. Since we last spoke, I hadn’t heard anything from him, and I started to become worried. I tried my hardest to let him run free in New York since he was with our cousin, but I knew my brother. I knew that Dio had a mind of his own, and if he felt too controlled, he would end up doing what he wanted.
