“So, tell me about the woman that you were supposed to marry.”I try to change the subject.
I didn’t want to look at him.I didn’t want to see the pain she caused him.
“She wasn’t really my type.”
“What?”It wasn’t the reply I thought I was going to get.
“We've known each other since we were kids. She was more my sister’s friend than mine.Always getting on my nerves, and that never really changed."
I truly loved that.
“I found out a few days before my wedding that she hadn’t kept herself intact for me.She slept with a lot of guys, not just one, and that she was actually a whore.”
“Alfonso.”I gasped.
He chuckled.“It’s the truth.I don’t like sharing and she knows that about me.”
“So, there are no unresolved feelings stuck with you when you see her?”
“My little runaway, if I could have it my way, her family would not exist today.”
I lifted my head and stared at him.“What?”
“It’s the way of our lives. It’s tradition. You know the rules.”
“They really kill families for not sticking to the rules?”
“They should. My father has grown weak.My grandfather warned him, and we have a lot of enemies in the circle.More than we need.”
I propped my head on my hand, my elbow resting on the pillow just beside his, my face hovering only a few inches from his.
"You really thought that was made up?"
"A part of me did, yes," I admitted, my voice soft but honest."My parents are pretty strict when it comes to the rules."
“It’s Dons like that who deserve to move up in the circle. Not the ones who are at the top.I promise I will look after your family.”
I smiled at him, and he looked at me through hooded eyes.I moved my ass against his shaft, and he took a big breath through his nose.
“There is no stop in you, is there?”
“Is there in you?”I whispered.
He shook his head, and that was all the answer I needed.Without another word, my lips crashed against his, and before long, the roles between us had reversed, and I found myself gasping as Alfonso rammed inside of me, pulling out a scream of his name.
NINETEEN
THE WHITE RABBIT
The room smelledof sex and I genuinely enjoyed spending time with my little runaway.
She shared stories about her great-grandfather, Levi, and the kind of businessman he was, smart, strategic, just like his son, her grandfather. Then she spoke of her father, and I couldn’t help but notice the similarities to my own.I knew he was a man of vision; he proved that with the mergers he planned. He had a solid head on his shoulders, but lacked the unyielding drive it took to lead.
Her brother killed before, but not the amount he should’ve.Emily was the daughter they’d always dreamed of.She was soft, sweet, smart, and obedient. The complete opposite of my Camilla.
But what she didn’t realize was just how beautiful she truly was.I knew she struggled with Italian. She’d told me she’d tried to learn, but the language never quite stuck.
I kissed her body, started with her ear and decided to take this opportunity to teach her the language.
