Odin
I watched her fight the battle with sleep with a smirk on my face. This time, my ego accepted the boost.
Her eyelids fluttered, and within a few seconds, she was out. Sitting back in my chair, I watched her for a few minutes. She was beautiful in the bright light of the room, and I wanted to drink as much of her in as I could. Finally, I shrugged out of my trance, standing up to stretch. Making my way to our bathroom,I didn't bother to clean myself up. Some part of me wished she'd wake and lick me clean. If tonight was any indicator, we'd get there. Washing my hands, I wet a washcloth to take care of her. She was mine, and I would always take care of her every need.
Making sure the towel was warm, I wiped her fingers clean and placed the cloth against her pussy lips. Her eyes fluttered open. "Odin?" Her voice was full of sleep. Placing a kiss on her forehead, I made sure she was comfortable in our bed. “Sleep, baby,” I whispered to her. “I am right here.”
Her eyes fluttered closed, and I placed another kiss on her forehead.
Watching her sleep soundly, I threw on my boxers. I didn't have a problem being naked, but I didn't want Serena to be uncomfortable if she woke. It was bad enough she was naked under the covers, and I wanted nothing more than to climb in next to her. I didn't trust myself not to push for anything further.
I kissed her one last time, but when I pulled away, her husband, the doctor, was gone. In his place was the God of War. It was time to go to work.

Ihad an overwhelming urge to be in the same room as Serena. Grabbing my phone, I checked my messages as I sat back in the chair. The guards had reported that Carazzo had followed us home, which I had figured. They gave detailed accounts of his whereabouts after we had turned into the parking garage. They said he had continued down the road until he'd pulled into one of the local restaurant's lots. He wouldn’t have access to this building without being seen, and the restaurant was busy enough that it wouldn't have looked suspicious. Once parked, he had pulled out his phone and made a call. It was probably aburner, but I’d pull the phone records on the number I had to verify.
He must have been on the move, because there was a new message from a guard. Carazzo was heading back to the shipyards. Predictable motherfucker! I smirked. I would bet everything he was informing the chief about tonight's developments.
I instructed the guards to follow him, but remain hidden. If I had to guess, they were putting pressure on Carazzo to speed this up. The quicker, the better, and with no access to Serena, the cop was feeling the heat. I waited for the guards to confirm the meet, and then I put my plan in place.
I'd cloned my wife's phone onto another burner for this exact situation. I sent the cop a text.
I saw you at the movie theatre. You can’t follow me.
I waited, one phone in each hand. The guards were first in letting me know that the cop was looking at his phone.
My burner lit up in my hand.
You looked awfully cozy.
I rolled my eyes at him. Of course she had. Serena realized that, unlike everyone else in her life, I didn't bullshit her. I reinforced she was mine whenever I had the chance, and in turn, she relaxed, showing her true personality and not the perfect principessa. She was getting stronger by the day, and I’d be curious to see if she would rip him to shreds one day, assuming I let him get even a hair's breadth from her.
He’s my husband,I texted, flipping off the phone with my middle finger. It was childish, but looking over at my sleeping wife, it made me feel better.
You better find me something, bitch, or I’ll tell him you weren’t a virgin. Daddy’s broke, so there’s no retribution for you.
What the fuck? Lorenzo was broke? That was news to me. I’d have to look into that.
I answered him.
He won’t believe you.
I’ll tell him you begged me for it. That you were like a bitch in heat. I am very convincing.
I nearly wanted to laugh. No one who knew her would ever believe him. She had been a shadow of the woman she was now. When I would sneak into her room, she would often toss and turn, never escaping the nightmares he'd caused. That was why I wasn’t worried when she would fall asleep on me. It was the best compliment. Serena felt safe, and that was why she succumbed so easily. I walked over to her sleeping form. Kissing her forehead, I whispered to her, “I’ll never let you hurt again.”
Before I killed him, I had to move this along.
My father has a shipment of antiques coming in. There’s an invoice, but I am not sure if the pieces are legal. There’s been a few special orders lately that came from questionable sources.
Take that, fucker.
I attached a copy of the real invoice I had swiped from the office and sent it to him. He’d investigate it and get his panties all in a twist. Little did he know the Lombardos had illegal pieces coming in. They just weren’t with the regular shipment that I had given him. It would buy me time to plan my next move if Carazzo was distracted with the shiny shipment.
