"Henry!" I screech. My grip on the pillow beneath my head tightens just as my core does. Seeing Ridge with his head thrown back and cum rolling down his thigh sends me crashing over the edge. Stars burst across my vision and my body skyrockets and zaps with thick pleasure.
Muttered curses and heavy panting slowly bring me back to earth. Darkness reminds me that my eyes are squeezed shut, but I'm too exhausted to open them. Even hearing Trevor's rough praise about how pretty I am when I come doesn't rouse me.
There's shuffling, something wiping my vagina, then another body tugging me onto a chest. Burrowing my nose into the soft fabric of his shirt, I catch a whiff of rose.Kai.
"Sleep now, flora. We love you."
A tough day was just the thing we needed to grow closer.
Chapter 46
Trevor
"Have you heard from Nina?" Meg sounds worried, instantly putting me on alert.
My heart pounds as my fingers flex on my phone. "No. Why? Is she not home?"
"No...She's not..."
I check the clock on my dashboard, and my gut tightens with something like dread and fear. "Kai and Henry should have picked her up twenty minutes ago. Maybe they stopped to get her a coffee."
Silence on the other end of the line doesn't make me feel better. "Trevor," Meg's voice wobbles. "I already called both of them. And Ridge. He said Nina left his house forty minutes ago. Kai got a text from her saying she was going to walk home."
"But even if she walked—" she would be home already.
"Hey man."
Glancing over my shoulder, I see Kai coming toward the patio door. "Hey."
"You alright?" He leans against the door frame and crosses his arms same as me. "You've been over here for a while."
I nod at Nina who's curled up on the couch outside. "She's still on the phone."
Kai mimics my nod but doesn't take his assessing gaze off of me. "Yeah. Meg misses her. That's not what I asked though."
The urge to brush him off is strong, but if I bury this shit, then it will come out in other ways. Ways that I fear would impact Nina. "I can't stop thinking about that day." He knows which day. "She was just...gone."
As the minutes wore on, my soul felt like it was expanding and stretching as if it was searching for her. With each hour, a new tear would form and my knees would wobble. Our search party almost brought me to my knees so many fucking times.
Then we found it; her backpack.
"Trevor. Blink, she's not going to disappear."
Self-hatred and guilt rages to the surface. "She did the last time I took my fucking eyes off of her!"
Kai raises a brow. "And yet, now you're looking at me. Not her."
My teeth are going to be nothing but dust by the time I'm thirty. Annoyed, I return my attention to my girl. "I didn't mean it literally, asshole."
"No, but you're going down a path that isn't only going to hurt you, but it's going to hurt her too."
"The fuck are you talking about?" I shoot him a look and notice how serious he looks.Am I really coming across so poorly?
"You look like you're ten seconds away from locking her in her bedroom."Not a bad idea. "No, Trev. Stop that shit right now. Nina has put in so much effort to move forward and continue living. If you let the past drag you down into a pit of anxiety, you'll take her with you."
"I'm fine." Fuck him for scolding me like a child.
"You aren't," he says matter-of-factly. "We all need a pep talk sometimes after losing the most precious thing in the world, but what we need to focus on isshe's here. Nina's alive, in one piece, and justlook at her!"
