“You’re not,” she said, her arms going around his neck. “Do you think poorly of me?”

“No,” he said, lowering his mouth to hers. “I think we just need to do what feels right for us.”

“Yes,” she said. “It’s about us.”

He kissed her slowly again and she didn’t want that.

She needed him tonotbe gentle. Not to be afraid to touch her.

When her mouth opened under his, his kiss turned just as carnal as it had every other time.

But now they weren’t in a car. They were alone in her house...with beds close by.

“You can tell me no,” he said after a minute. “And I’ll understand.”

“I don’t want to say no,” she said. She grabbed his hand. “I want you to stop talking. I want you to go to my room with me and I want you to make me feel as if nothing in the world exists but the two of us. I don’t want either of us to be worried that the connection isn’t there, because it is. We both know it.”

His eyes were searching hers. “It is,” he agreed.

“Then stop talking,” she said, pulling him toward the stairs in the back of the house.

She was almost running up them so she didn’t have the time to change her mind.

She didn’twantto change her mind.

When they got to her room, he wrapped her up in his arms and crushed his mouth to hers.

Now this was what she was talking about.

“Tell me what you want,” he said.

Her hands were pushing the flannel shirt off his shoulders, then reaching for the blue cotton one under it and lifting it over his head.

“This,” she said, her eyes landing on his chest. “You. Damn, I didn’t expect this.”

He laughed. “No comment,” he said.

Her hands went to the button on his jeans, but he brushed them away.

“Don’t make me beg,” she said. “Because I’m damn close to it. Do you know how long it’s been since I’ve had sex? Since I even wanted sex?”

“Over four years?” he said quietly.

“That’s right,” she said. “I’m over pleasuring myself when I need a fix and it’s always been few and far between. But in the last month my body has become more awakened than it’s ever been. Do you know why?”

Her eyes dropped and she noticed his cock was pressing against his jeans.

“I’m sure you’re going to tell me,” he said.

“You. The minute I touched your back in my office, I felt this heat in my body. Totally unethical to say that about a patient.”

His hands went for her purple sweater and lifted it over her head. “I’m not your patient anymore. It was one visit.”

“No,” she said. “You’re not. Do you know who you are?”

“The man whose name you’re going to be yelling out soon.”

“Thank God you replied that way, Jax. Yes, please be that man.”
