‘Of course not. It’s your choice. I just want you to be happy. If that makes you happy, go for it.’
‘I’m glad you don’t mind,’ Kelly said. ‘I don’t know about Mum, though. I think she’s nearly having a breakdown at this stage.’
‘Can you blame her?’ Dylan said. ‘It’s been a hell of a shock. She’s had a lot to deal with thesepast few days. She’s freaking out about everything going wrong.’
‘I know. But maybe things will get better now,’ Kelly said. ‘Maybe this is a new chapter in our lives.’
Dylan smiled at his sister. ‘Good old Kelly, always hoping for the best.’
Kelly shrugged. ‘I want to look forward now. I think we all need to. I’ve come back from the brink and I’m determined to live an honest and happy lifefrom now on.’
Dylan squeezed her hand. ‘You deserve it, sis.’
