I slid onto the wide windowsill, buck assed naked. “What do you mean?”

“I always thought of it as a negative. As something being taken from me against my will. But now…now it’s simply the price I’ve happily paid to get through hell and into heaven.” He lifted me off the windowsill, kissing the crap out of me. “Because this is definitely heaven.”

“Well then come on.” I took his hand and led him into the now steamy bathroom.

“We don’t have time for this, Sam.”

“Says who?” I turned and got to work on the sexy pants.

“The car will be here in an hour.”

I pushed the zip down and slid my hands around to cup his ass and push the pants down his legs. “So?”

“So…you won’t be ready in an hour if we take a ‘hot’ shower.”

“Says who?”

He laughed as I cupped him. “Experience?”

I stood up. “And again, I pose the question: so what?” Did it matter if I was ten minutes late? There was no punishment for arriving at dinner late. No points would be taken or consequences doled out. It was dinner with friends.

Jace looked like his brain was short circuiting but his cock was also hardening in my palm, so I was pretty sure I was about to win this war. His impeccable timeliness made him an excellent executive, incredible bodyguard, and fantastic father; however, it could occasionally make him rigid and ridiculous.

Was he seriously about to turn down sex in favor of being on time?”

“You make an excellent point, wife.” He pushed me backward into the shower, his pants forgotten on the floor.

He kissed me until the hot rain shower from above drowned us out. Then hands took over. Massaging, tentative hands. We were both a little unsure and out of practice after a stressful couple of weeks. Testing and teasing were necessary to get our bearings, but it was also kind of sweet to be brought slowly to the edge of orgasm only for it to explode into a rough, frantic desperation against the shower wall.

Jace nuzzled my neck in the afterglow, his hands around me, holding me tight against his body. “It’s nice to know that no matter what, we always find our way back to each other.”

“Was that ever in doubt?”

He nuzzled some more. “I might have some lingering abandonment issues I need to address.”

I swayed my hips, pulling him into a dance. “You seem to have found me.”

He growled and lightly nibbled along my throat. “Next time I get lost in my stress I’ll remind myself that I would never let you go, so therefore you cannot be lost.”

There was my Jace.

The restaurant was located in the Hyde Park area of Tampa, near Greg and Marie. They walked over to join us in celebrating the opening of Teddy’s new restaurant. Home Run discovered he loved running restaurants when he helped take over management of the restaurants and bars in Devil’s Wrath’s portfolio. This was his second solo venture.

“Welcome everyone!” He waved us all in the front doors. We got curious looks from people passing us on the sidewalk. Hopefully it was helpful in building up extra interest for Teddy’s restaurant.

The inside was set up like we were on vacation on a Caribbean island. A mix of dark and light, punctuated by palm fronds and bright hibiscus flowers. Storm and his wife, my colleague, Adriana Morales, were already inside sipping on a cocktail and snacking on an appetizer. Sitting with them was Riddick and his partner, Martha. Theirs was a story somewhat similar to ours. Riddick fell hard for Martha not long after he patched into Devil’s Wrath and didn’t want to bring her into that life. He tried to keep his love life separate from his MC life, but in the end he broke up with her.

Once Todd and the Chubbies were arrested, he asked her on a date and the rest is history.

Teddy was still super single. He loved dating but had zero interest in settling down with anything but his restaurants.

“What can I get you?” He bounced with excitement. “I’ve crafted a special cocktail for tonight. It involves bourbon and a special bitters that brings a subtle cinnamon taste to the drink that I think you’ll like.”

That sounded perfect. “Sign me up for that!”

“I’ll give it a spin,” Jace agreed.

“You know I’d never steer you wrong, Boss!”
