“Kate James. Are you horny again?”

The man could read me like a book. I covered my eyes. “Yes.” Except I think, technically, it was still horny, not again. Every so often I got like this. Like nothing could satisfy me. Except that was usually by myself, so I assumed the solo venture thing was lacking in some capacity.

Isaac seemed to prove me wrong.

His hands came around my biceps as he lowered me onto the bed. “I have two phone calls to make before we head to the field for batting practice and I don’t have time for another shower, but I can help.”

His mouth covered one nipple as his hand moved over my swollen clit.

“You don’t have to do this, Isaac.” I felt guilty. He needed to find Chris and get to practice. He did not have time to… I moaned as his fingers entered me.

“I know I don’t have to. I want to.”

Then the least I could do was help get there. I took my other nipple between my fingers and rolled. Then I took over massaging my clit so he could focus on pumping his fingers into my core. I forgot to worry what he thought, forgot to care what was normal for dating someone for a week. I chased my orgasm until it crashed down around me and the itching need for more finally subsided.

“Incredible,” Isaac murmured as he withdrew his fingers and kissed my cheek. “Absolutely incredible.”

“I’m too needy.”

“That’s blasphemy.” He returned to the bathroom and washed his hands and styled his hair, then grabbed a t-shirt and pants out of his luggage. “Kate James, you are a beautiful, sexy woman and I wouldn’t change a thing about you. You need another orgasm, ask. If I can’t help, I’ll tell you that. Honesty, remember?”

I nodded.

“Now, I grabbed some clothes from your room and your toiletries bag. Stay as long as you like.” He looked like he wanted to say stay forever but was afraid it would scare me.

“Thank you, Isaac. That was very thoughtful.”

He loomed over me, dropping another kiss on my forehead before tilting my chin up for a real kiss. “Thank you, Kate. That was the best sex of my life and I’m very much looking forward to more.”

I blushed again. “I am too.”

“Good.” He released my chin and stood up. “I have a feeling we’ve both been afraid to truly be ourselves. Until now. I don’t want to hide the real me from you, Kate. And I don’t want you to hide anything about yourself from me. I don’t think it will be easy, but it’s the right thing to do.”

“Are you going to eat?”

“Already did. You’ve been out for over an hour.”

I blushed all over again.

“Order more if you want. Take your time. Don’t rush enjoying that orgasm I just gave you.” With one last wink, Isaac grabbed his phone, wallet, and keys. “Key to my room is on the nightstand. I put yours back with your phone. See you later, babe.”

I sat there alone for a few minutes going back through everything that already happened this morning. It didn’t seem possible that was all today, but it was.

What happened? Once Gordo left, Isaac’s emotions were all over the place. I felt them coming off him in waves. And that…did something to me. It scared me a little. I desperately wanted to soothe him, but the only way I could think to was with sex.

It worked. Oh, how it worked. And the emotions of it all fueled us both. It made for incredible sex. What about it made me so needy? And Isaac so vocal? It was as if we were both searching for something—something we didn’t understand about ourselves but knew sex would solve, at least temporarily.

Or maybe it didn’t matter and I was overthinking everything.

I pulled the cover off the first plate and found the most delicious looking cheeseburger I’d ever seen, surrounded by big fat french fries. Recovery food. My stomach growled. Maybe sex with Isaac was just that freeing and incredible, just like a good cheeseburger. Sometimes you just wanted a cheeseburger. Sometimes you just needed uninhibited sex.

I barely saw Isaac for the next two days. They found Seth and Liam, the Mental Health and Performance coach, was trying to get Seth to talk to him but it wasn’t going well. Isaac kept him on the bench for now. Meanwhile I had talked to every coach and player that worked with Paredes so I had a really clear picture of everything before I went to the source of the coaching staff problems.

But by the time I got to him, the problem had been solved.

By Isaac.

“What did you do?” I asked Isaac. He sat on my bed while I freshened up my makeup and changed my earrings. Game three had been an afternoon game so the team was going out to dinner together.
