My routine is usually pretty solid. Slipping into warrior one and down dog, then cat, tabletop, pigeon, and child’s pose to cool down. Sometimes I have the intensity, but for the most part, I enjoy my usual quick session once a day. By the end, I feel more relaxed, but my mind is still stuck firmly on Matt.

I sigh and make my way to the bathroom for a shower. The hot water feels fantastic caressing the curves of my body. For a moment, I imagine that those warm rivulets are Matt’s fingers, and I feel my core throb with want. My nipples pebble in the skin of my breast grows sensitive under the water. I slip my hands up over my chest, palming my plump breasts and pinching my nipples lightly. I lean my head back against the shower wall and moan, feeling the slick muscles between my legs clench, wishing something was inside me.

I tiptoe my fingers down the center of my stomach and tickle the top of my pussy just above my clit, before dipping my fingers inside. My thighs quiver, and I slowly pull my fingers out before pushing them back in again. I breathe out into the steamy air as I thrust into myself, again and again, my thumb brushing my sensitive bud with every stroke. I thrust my hips into my hand as I feel my orgasm build higher and higher, and finally, sweet release nearly brings me to my knees. I cum with Matt’s name on my lips and wonder what the hell I’m getting myself into this time.

The next day I head to my mother’s house to have lunch with her and my sister Jessica. Jessica is finally feeling well enough for company after her surgery, and mother has been dying to discuss the New Year’s Eve party coming up this weekend. When I knock on the front door, my mother throws it open with a smile and greets me with a kiss on the cheek before leading me into the dining room.

“I wanted to have lunch out on the veranda, but it’s more comfortable for your sister in here.”

Jessica is seated on one of the plush chairs at the large formal dining table, her healing leg propped up on an ottoman with extra cushions.

“Hey Jess,” I greet her with a kiss on the cheek and a one-armed hug. “How are you feeling?”

“Oh, you know, as well as can be expected. I’d be a lot better if mom would give me some more of my meds, but you know how she is,” Jessica says with a roll of her eyes.

“Those pills are not good for you, young lady. They’re only for excessive pain, not discomfort.”

“Yeah, yeah.Anyways,” Jessica continues. “Have you found a date for the party yet, Matty?”

I groan and throw a look at my mother, who’s looking back at me with big hopeful eyes.

“Yes,I have a date,” I say with a pout. “Can’t you two mind your business?”

“Certainly not! You are 36, Matthew. It’s time you settle down already.”

“Mother, please don’t start with that again.” I sigh and rub my temples where a headache is already starting to form. “Just to ease your mind, I do have a new girlfriend, and I am planning to bring her to the party. I’ve been waiting to tell you guys about her because I wanted to make sure that the relationship was going in a more serious direction first.”

“No way!” Jessica shouts. My mother claps her hands and flashed an enormous grin.

“You must tell us all about her! How did you meet?”

“Seriously!” Jessica continues, “You never go anywhere; how the hell did you find time to meet a girl?”

“Don’t be a brat, Jess,” I say before looking at my mother again. “It’s Bree Williams, the girl I dated through high school. We got in touch again recently, and things just kind of fell into place.”

“Oh, that’s wonderful, Matthew! She was such a lovely girl. I never did understand why you two split up. I remember how in love you were.” My mother gushes with stars in her eyes.

“Isn’t she the chick that broke your heart?” Jessica buts in with pursed lips. “I remember you moped around all summer before you left for college. Why would you want to hook up with her again?”

“She had her reasons, Jess, and I’m over it. It was fifteen years ago.”

“Yeah, well, I didn’t pay much attention to your ridiculous love life back then, so I don’t remember anything else about her.”

Our housekeeper, Hilda, comes in with a tray filled with cucumber sandwiches and fresh fruit. Mother always did favor a light lunch. After we devour everything on the table, mom starts in again.

“We must have dinner with you and Bree before the party this weekend. I won’t have any time to catch up with her then, and your sister won’t have time to socialize with her either. Can you make tonight work?”

“Mother, that’s incredibly short notice. She may already have plans.”

“Surely she can make time to meet your family?” My mother continues with an arched brow.

“I guess, as long as she is available. Her sister just had a baby, so I need to make sure she doesn’t have something going on with her family tonight. I’m not going to guilt her into canceling plans.”

“Sure, sure.” Mother waves a dismissive hand in the air and turns to my sister. “Where do you think we should dine tonight, Jessica darling?”
