“Ms. Beckett, I need to ask you some questions.”
Officer Davis stands at my door asking me questions that feel more like an interrogation, making me feel like a criminal.
“A forensic investigator will be here soon to ask you more questions,” Officer Davis says before giving me a node and walking away.
What feels like hours later, I’ve showed the forensic investigator the security room that was in the process of being set up, gave him the name of my security company, and answered all his questions. I felt stupid having no answers, but I truly didn’t have any idea who would want to do this to me.
Before going to Bodhi, I double check all the doors are locked, put the shades down, and enable the alarm. I wanted to give him a little more time in case he needed it. Time he seems to need but didn’t ask for.
When I walk into my bathroom, I find Bodhi standing underneath the shower spray with his hands braced on the wall with his head down and his eyes closed. I strip out of my clothes without him noticing I’m even in the room. He’s too deep in thought and that worries me. Wrapping my arms around him from behind, I lay my head against his strong, broad back and hug him.
One of his hands slips from the wall and covers both my hands as he relaxes back against me. We stand like that for what seems like forever as my mind races with the night’s occurrences and I can’t help wondering again, why this is happening to me. Sure, my old friends and my parents’ associates didn’t love that I refused to spend all my time hosting fundraisers, but not enough to do this.
Turning around in my arms, Bodhi stares down into my soul. My very being. And he looks scared, causing my body to tense. We stand there gazing into each other’s eyes, lost, for what seems like hours. Bodhi seems to be fighting with unnamed emotions while I plead for him to open up to me. Tell me what he saw. What he’s feeling. When Bodhi finally speaks, I jolt at the five words he says to me.
“All the cameras were destroyed.”

Bodhi
Coco’s armsconstrict around me. Her beautiful face marred by confusion. “What do you mean all the cameras were destroyed?” Her breath hitches on the last word.
I shift to keep the water from hitting her face and wrap her in my arms in the hope I will be able to protect her. Tonight. Tomorrow. Always. Whoever was out there meant business and they certainly didn’t like that security measures were being put into place.
“I checked as best as I could in the dark and from memory, but all the cameras that were installed along the property were torn down. The fires we saw was them burning.”
Her body shudders in my arms. “I had hoped all this could have been an animal, but now I know it’s not possible. Why is someone doing this to me?”
“I don’t know,” I answer her, running my fingers through her wet hair. “Maybe…maybe you should go to a hotel or someplace safe.” Having security lights come on is one thing, but dead animals on your doorstep and disabling and setting fire to her cameras is another. Someone has been out there and I’m afraid whoever it is will escalate their actions and when they do, whoever it is will most likely do bodily harm. I can’t let anything happen to Coco. She’s the first person to ever see the man I am.
Could it be the same person who attacked her outside the salon?
“A hotel can’t do much in terms of security. As long as we stay inside, we’ll be fine.” She looks down knowing we can’t stay inside forever, and we shouldn’t have to.
With my forefinger and thumb, I tip her head back to look at me. Water drips from my hair and face onto her face. “You can’t stay inside forever.”
“I know, but I don’t know what else to do. The cops have no leads…” Her lower lip trembles.
Neither do we.
“Maybe go on a trip until—” I start to suggest until she cuts me off.
“Until what? With no leads, the cops aren’t going to catch who’s doing this and say I do go away,” she juts out her chin, “it will most likely start all over again when I get back or whoever it is will follow me. I don’t want to take that chance. I’ve lived here all my life, so I have that advantage.”
I shake my head at her stubbornness and more water drips down on her flushed cheeks. “I don’t want you to get hurt or worse, Coco. I care about you a lot and if something happened to you…”
Her small, shaky hands cup my cheeks as she stares up at me with her big blue eyes the color of the sky looking like a goddess misplaced on Earth. “I don’t want anything to happen to you either,” she murmurs, eyes fixated on my mouth. Leaning up she brushes her soft lips against mine. Pulling her closer until we’re flesh to flesh, her soft to my hard, I deepen our kiss. Her silken body slides against mine making me want to devour her. I want to get lost in her touch and never come up for air. “Bodhi,” she moans my name into my mouth.
Grabbing her leg, I hitch it around my hip and slide my stiff erection through her warm heat. “You feel like heaven in my arms,” I nip down on her neck and suck the area behind her ear lobe. “I want to sink deep inside of you.”
“Please,” Coco pants out, her fingers tangling in my hair and pulling my head down to where she wants it most, her gorgeous firm breasts with rosy peaked nipples. When I nip her rosy bud, Coco’s fingers flex and bite into my ass cheek. “I need you.”
I need you too. More than you know.
Guiding my cock through her folds, I nudge her opening. Coco shifts, pulling me closer and I slip inside. Wrapping her legs around my waist, I lean her back against the tile wall. Sucking the column of her throat, I revel in her heat. In the way she makes me feel and the man she’s brought out in me.
My Goddess.
