Fuck.

Fuck.

Fuck me for being stupid and letting her ride my dick without wrapping it up first, and fuck me for being reminded of how young Raine is. She’s seven years younger than I am, and I’m sure she wasn’t counting on having a baby right now.

“I’m not sure what to say right now. I wasn’t expecting to see you again after waking up, and you were gone. And I definitely wasn’t expecting to find you here as one of my patients and that I impregnated you.” I run my hand over my hair and face. “Are you going to keep it?”

Her face turns red as she gets up off the table. “Are you kidding me right now? You need to leave, so I can get dressed and get the… the… the heck out of here.”

I stand and move to the door, doing as she asked. “It’s a valid question, Raine.”

“Yes, I’m keeping the baby. I wouldn’t have come here if I was planning on getting rid of it,” she whisper-yells.

I’m fucking this up. My mind is blown by the revelation that our night resulted in an unplanned pregnancy. I have to be the worst OB in all of LA. On autopilot, I pull out my business card and scribble my cellphone number on the back of it. “Here,” I hand it to her. “If you need anything, call me.”

She snatches it out of my hand. “I won’t. Now get out,” she points to the door with her pretty pink lips set in a thin line.

Walking out of the room, I don’t look at her friend; I let my feet take me down the hall to my office, where I close my door and slump down against it until my ass hits the floor.

Holy fucking shit.

Epilogue

RAINE

Four Years Later

Sittingon the beach in Lexie’s backyard, we watch as Kade, Ryder, and Remy play with the children in the ocean water.

“This is the best way to spend the weekend.” I rub more sunscreen on my legs.

“When are you going to convince that husband of yours to buy a house closer to us?” Stella asks me.

“It’s too far from the hospital,” I tell her for probably the twentieth time. “Maybe once he retires.” My brows raise over my sunglasses.

“That’s far too long,” Lexie pouts.

“It really is.” Stella gasps and leans forward. “Don’t tell me Kade’s one of those people who thinks the beach is sinking into the ocean, and that’s why he doesn’t want to move here.”

Lexie and I look at each other and burst out laughing. I nearly fall off my lounger. Once I finally pull myself together, barely, I let out a cough. “I don’t think so. It really is about his job.”

“Well, I don’t get to see you as much as Lexie does, so I miss you,” Stella fake sniffs.

“So, your solution is to have everyone move near you? Are you trying to get Pen to buy a place here?”

“She’s just as resistant as you,” she grumbles.

“We just need to have more of these get-togethers. Maybe a girls’ weekend,” I suggest.

“Yes,” Stella shouts. “I love my kids, but a weekend with just my girls would be wonderful.”

“Let’s do it,” Lexie claps her hands on her legs. “Stella, we can take you along on one of my travel shoots, or you can come after, and then we’ll have a few days to ourselves.”

“Oh,” her eyes light up. “You mean I could be your assistant for a day like Raine?”

“If you want,” Lexie laughs.

“You know all the husbands will want to come along,” I say, looking out at the water. It’s a fine sight to see. All our men shirtless and wet, playing with children. We’ll probably all end up getting pregnant tonight. I know my ovaries are about to explode.
