Opening the door to the lounge, I was shocked to find Pria at the counter typing on her phone. She didn’t seem to notice anyone had walked in. I decided to sneak up on her.

Pria continued to type furiously, her mouth turned down in a frown which was so unlike her. Usually, she had a smile that lit up her face. Wrapping my arms around her waist, I nuzzled her neck and rasped out. “Imagine my surprise when I saw you standing here.”

Jumping out of my arms, Pria backed away. “What are you doing, Mr. Avery?”

“For heaven’s sake, no.” She closed her eyes and breathed loudly through her nose. When she opened them again, her deep brown irises shone like the lake with a full moon. “Maybe I need to remind you there’s a no fraternization policy at Avery Capital Holdings.”

“I’ve heard of it, but it doesn’t matter because I’m the owner. Now come over here so I can kiss you.”

Her eyes widened with alarm. “You can’t be serious? Do you know what would happen if anyone found out about us?” She gave a pregnant pause. “Having sex or that I’m staying at your place?”

“They’d congratulate me?”

“While I like seeing you not being a hard-ass at work, don’t do this to me, King. I like you and my job. Don’t make me choose.”

My brows pulled in as I frowned at her. “You don’t have to. You can have both.”

“Not if anyone finds out. Please, King. We need to be discreet.” Her brown eyes begged me not to make her pick even though she didn’t have to.

“If that’s what you want then I’ll make sure no one sees us in any compromising positions.” If Pria thought I wasn’t going to spread her out on my desk, she was delusional.

Shaking her head, Pria picked up her cup of coffee as if she was ready to leave. “I can tell that’s as far as I’m going to get for now.”

“You shouldn’t worry.” I could be discreet especially knowing how much it meant to her. “How about we meet back at theapartment for a long lunch? We’ll take the dogs for a walk and then I’ll fuck you on the kitchen counter again.”

She licked her lips at the thought. “I’m sorry. I can’t today, but how about tomorrow?”

“What do you have going on that you can’t meet me?” I didn’t like that she was already turning me down for sex. I was addicted to her, and I needed to get my fix, and soon.

“I already have lunch plans. Maybe next time you’ll ask me with more advanced notice.”

Who the hell was she having lunch with?

“While I’ve got you, I wanted to talk to you about something. Do you have a few minutes?”

“For you, Ms. Wang, I always have time.” Did she see how that worked? I made time for her and she made time for me. “Why don’t we go to my office?”

“Thank you, Mr. Avery.” Her tone was surprised. Did she think I’d turn her down? “Were you coming for a cup of coffee?” She held up her still steaming cup.

“I was, but you’re much better than a caffeine fix.”

“You’re such a charmer, Mr. Avery.” Should I tell her that every time she called me that it made my dick twitch? I wanted to hear her call it out in bed.

“Like I said before, it’s all for you, but may I make a recommendation?” She nodded in reply. “Unless you want to suck me off in my office, I suggest you stop calling me Mr. Avery.”

“What?” she asked affronted. “I’m not going to call you anything but Mr. Avery at work. It wouldn’t seem right.”
