“Tell me you didn’t kill him,” I said to Syre.

“His punk, pussy ass is in the trunk. I’m going to take my time with him.”

Walking past Syre and Divine, I headed to his truck and let the trunk up. Did this nigga just keep zip ties on him just in case? Zane’s hands and feet were bound, and he was struggling like hell to get loose.

“You think you’re going to get away with this? You know who the fuck I am? This little sneak attack only signed your death certificate!” he shouted.

I slapped the shit out of him. “Don’t think I have to sneak and do a damn thing. I want you to see me coming. Before you take your last breath, you will learn to never in your short life threaten me, pussy,” I said before spitting on him and slamming the trunk.

“I’m taking him to that place I showed you one time,” Syre revealed when I made it back to them. “Take our girl home.”

“Oh, I am, but please let me take out the trash,” I requested.

“I guess I’ll let that be your induction into the family. What do you want me to do with him?”

“Just take him out there and leave him there.”

“All right, man. You already know where to go. He’ll be waiting.”

“Got you. Let me make sure baby girl is good. Thank you, man.”

“Thank you, and Liam, if you hurt my baby, you already know where you’ll take your last breath.”

For two whole days, Divine and I stayed in bed making love and discussing how our future would look.

“Let me take care of you, Divine. You’ve worked hard long enough.”

“I don’t want that, Lee Lee. I want to be my own woman for a change. I’ve never really gotten a chance to do that.”

“You can be your own woman. I know you like being a boss. Be my boss. Let me be the worker, and you just raise my babies and make sure I’m a happy employee.”

“We’ll see, but I can’t promise that I’ll like it.”

“I have to leave for a minute. You know I’m coming back as soon as I can.”

“Are you going to wherever Syre took Zane?”

“Yeah,” I admitted.

“Well, I’m going,” she said, throwing her legs out of the bed.

“Divine, I don’t need you seeing that shit.”

“I’m your boss, right?”

“Oh, wow. That backfired fast as hell,” I said, laughing and shaking my head.

“I’m going.”

Knowing that there was no winning, I got dressed and waited for Divine to join me in the living room.

“Come on.” I sighed as I led the way out of the house.

We didn’t speak as we drove to the ranch where they kept those enormous hogs. It took about forty minutes from Divine’s house, which gave me time to decompress. I was going to enjoy making a little more space on the planet.

“Where the hell are we?” Divine asked once I was parked in front of the barn next to the hogs.

“A farm,” I told her as I got out of the truck.
