“I’m not,” she lied.

“Quit lyin’,” I mumbled loud enough for both of them.

Kensei laughed. “She lyin’. I heard it.”

Zoe blushed, then opened up a little more, pointing to the screen. “The one you said was for me? That’s fire.”

“You can add it to the pink one,” Kensei said, smirking.

Zoe’s eyes shifted toward me, something unspoken dancing between us.

Kensei caught it. “What? What happened?”

Zoe looked right at him and ratted me out without blinking. “Your brother ripped it.”

I kissed my teeth playfully as she laughed.

“Awdamn,” Kensei groaned, making it worse. “Don’t trip—I gotchu, Zoe. I’ll ship a replacement myself.”

I watched her eyes beam at hearing her name from his mouth. And I didn’t even trip—because I saw what it meant. She wasinnow.

“A’ight, bro,” I said, smirking. “I’ma letchu go.”

Kensei waved through the screen. “Bye, Zoe!”

She smiled and waved back. “Bye, Kensei.”

She poked my side suddenly, making me flinch.

“Ay, what was that?”

Zoe giggled, poking me again. “You flinched like a little boy.”

“You gon’ get your ass beat.”

“You can try,” she challenged, eyes dancing.

I reached over and snatched the nearest pillow, smacked her lightly in the face. She gasped and grabbed one herself, swinging at me with a muffled laugh.

“Oh, it’s like that?”

“You started it!”

We wrestled for control, the pillows flying and the blanket slipping until we were back to laughing breathlessly, her straddling me again, both of us half-winded and grinning like we hadn’t just wrecked each other twice tonight.

I yawned, big and lazy, stretching my arms behind my head.

“You tired?” I asked, voice low.

She shook her head, brushing hair out of her face. “Nah. That cat nap on the jet reset me. I’m good.”

She leaned forward, biting her lip a little before saying, “Actually… I was thinking…”

“Here you go.”

“I wanna try the hot tub.”

My brow lifted. “Right now?”
