And right now, I didn’t want anything else.

We’d finished maybe two more episodes when my mind drifted. Not far. Just… back.

Back to something he’d said earlier in the kitchen. Casually. Like it didn’t mean much.

But I’d held onto it anyway.

“So… tell me something,” I murmured, still curled into his side.

“Huh?” His eyes stayed on the TV, and I smiled—knowing full well he was starting to come around to the weird little show I’d dragged him into.

“You and your brothers… y’all all have the same dad but different moms, right?”

“Mm-hmm.” He nodded, still focused on the screen.

“And Kenwan has Wani’s Angels…” I teased.

That pulled a low chuckle from him. “Whole harem.”

“But neither of y’all have kids.”

Silence.

His gaze stayed forward… but I felt the shift.

I lifted my head, rested my chin on his chest, looking up at him.

“Could you see yourself as a father?”

His eyes weren’t on the TV anymore.

They were on me.

“Like married,” I added, “in a house?—”

“I know whatchu mean,” he cut me off, voice a little quieter now. His jaw tightened, and something flickered behind his eyes.

“No…” he said slowly, eyes drifting back to the TV. “I’on really think about think about shit like that.”

A small flutter stirred low in my stomach. I didn’t breathe. Just waited.

“But I’on know,” he continued after a beat. “Shit, I mean—ifyoucan get me to do some shit like this…”

His hand motioned lazily toward the fireplace, the messy food tray, the cozy cabin, and me curled up in his arms watching TV like it was a regular Saturday.

“Then I know you might can get a ring and some kids outta me.”

I blinked, then laughed. “Might can?”

He smirked, nodding like it made perfect sense. “Yup.”

“So let me get this straight…” I grinned. “You wanting marriage and/or babies ispredicated on me?—”

“On you takin’ my name, spreading them legs every day, and popping my babies out.”

I choked on air. “Every day?”

His eyes dropped to my thighs, watching the way I clenched them together, and his smirk deepened. “You say that like you don’t be tryna throw that muhfucka at me.”
