Page 323 of Kentrell

God… this man.

I didn’t know it was possible to feel this full.

I had my ring… my chain… my name on his chest and dangling from his neck… and his baby in my womb.

And for the first time in forever… I felt like I belonged somewhere… with someone… fully and without question.

I buried my face deeper into him, inhaling that warm, familiar scent of his skin and letting my smile stretch wide across my face.

Yeah… this was home now.

Right here… in his arms.

I eased one leg out from under the blanket, then the other… moving slow like I had all the time in the world.

Kentrell’s arm stayed heavy across my waist, his breathing still deep and even against my back. For a second, I thought I could make it.

I held my breath… shifted just enough to slide out from under him…

And failed.

The second my hips lifted off the mattress, his arm tightened around me like a steel band.

“Nah… where you goin’?”

His voice came out low and rough, all sleep and possessiveness, making my entire body flush warm.

“Bathroom,” I whispered, laughing softly under my breath. “Relax… I’ll come back.”

He hummed against my neck but didn’t let go right away. Instead, he kissed the spot just below my ear, trailing it with a low, sleepy, “Hurry up.”

“I will.”

I carefully peeled myself out of his grip, moving like I was dodging landmines, and finally grabbed the first thing I could find—his shirt from the floor.

It swallowed me whole, dropping halfway down my thighs, still smelling like him. I buttoned just enough to keep the important parts covered and tiptoed to the door.

I cracked it open slow, peeking out into the hall of Mars’s condo.

Safe.

At least that’s what I thought.

I eased out into the hallway…

And ransmack-dabinto Mars and Ayesha.

Both of them posted on the couch like they’d been sitting there all night waiting on this very moment.

Ayesha’s mouth fell open first.

Mars just grinned wide… eyes dropping immediately to the shirt I had on.

“Well, well, well…” Mars drawled, crossing her arms like she’d caught me red-handed sneaking out of a crime scene. “Look who finally came up for air.”

Ayesha covered her mouth, shaking her head. “Oh… my… God… Zoe.”

I froze.
