The sight of her small form hunched over, struggling to breathe, and all alone is one I’ll never forget. If I hadn’t found her… I don’t finish the thought.

Arjun got off easy.

I saw red when I heard him yelling and demeaning her, making her cower before my very own eyes. Had I not been in a hurry to chase Iris, I would’ve pummeled him into the ground before firing him.

How long had he been treating her like this?

Why didn’t she tell me?

Doesn’t she realize by now I’ll protect her from anything and anyone?

I stare at her, becoming distracted. All I can concentrate on is how her lips are still swollen and a dark shade of pink fromour kiss that left a mark on my soul. One that got prematurely interrupted before I could sate my hunger and own her.

I had never been more furious, seconds away from firing the woman on the spot. A recurring pattern for today.

However, a glimpse of the fear shading Iris’s face and our indecent position, I had enough sense to know we couldn’t get caught in this state. More than her, it’ll be me who won’t be able to handle my employees disrespecting or tarnishing her reputation.

They’ll only see a disheveled woman kissing and seconds away from fucking her fiancé’s brother, who is also her boss.

So, I reluctantly put her down. As soon as the woman had left, Iris flew out of the bathroom. I had to get my breathing and dick under control before going after her.

I had warned her what would happen if she let me have a single taste of her lips.

The tempting siren did it anyway.

My lips are still tingling from where they touched hers. Her saccharine and strawberry flavor is on my tongue, craving for more.

When I met her back in my office, I let her pretend it didn’t happen, while maintaining a professional resolve. It took decades of sheer willpower to accomplish it.

Because all I ached to do was finish what we started.

To pull her onto my lap and ravage her lush mouth. To devour and ruin her for other men. To lick and kiss every square inch of her. Every curve. Every dip. Every valley. Especially the one between her thighs.

I could even smell the scent of her sweet and tart arousal in the air, like a wolf who’s found its mate.

Instead, I sat across from her and gave her what she needed in that moment. Something far more important. I see a lot of my traits in her. The dedication, the motivation, and thecompetitiveness. She’s going to be successful and incredible in whichever field she chooses.

The room brightens after Iris finishes with a flourish.

Her piercing eyes find mine, and I smile at her, soothing her worry.

In my peripheral vision, I notice Dash studying me intently.

I school my features and pay attention to answering a couple of questions. Once it’s over, I adjourn the meeting. Everyone files out as I rise and bridge the distance between Iris and me. Pushing my hands inside my pockets so I don’t grab her, I murmur only for her ears, “Feeling good?”

“Yeah.” Gazing at me under her lashes, she shyly asks, “How did I do?”

“Amazing. Just like I knew you would.”

“Thanks. I enjoyed it too, once I was in the flow.” She huffs with a cute laugh. “It’s standing up in front of everyone that makes me nervous, even though I know I can do it.”

“I understand. The more you put yourself out there, the easier it’ll become,” I tell her. “I’ll help you overcome it. There are ways to curb it. Okay?”

Her piercing eyes soften. “You have plenty of other things to do, Kian. You shouldn’t waste your—”

“Stop,” I command, before softening my voice. “I’ll only say this once, so listen carefully. Everything I have willalwaystake a back seat when it comes to you.”

She sighs and utters, “You’re only saying this because—”
