“Is it related to the club?” he counters, pocketing his hand, which turns his stance intimidating. “If yes, I’m the person you’re looking for, and last I checked, I didn’t have any meetings tonight.”

Now that I have my breathing under control, I study him closely. His features do look familiar, like I’ve seen somewhere. I gulp when I recognize him. He’s one of the owners.

Zain Ahuja.

The billionaire tycoon hotelier with upscale nightclubs all over the country. A dangerously powerful man in his own right who is always involved in scandals.

The latest is that he’s allegedly dating his older brother’s nineteen-year-old adopted daughter after a photo of them together surfaced last year.

I think he and Kian would’ve bonded over the fact they’re both estranged from their brothers before getting into business together.

He clears his throat when I zone out.

I school my features. Wait, what did he ask? Oh yeah. “I have another topic to discuss with him, completely unrelated to the club.”

He observes my face intensely, scanning for a lie.

Please don’t send me away.

Please.

Please.

“I’m afraid you came all this way for nothing,” he drawls. “Kian isn’t here tonight.”

Call it intuition or whatever, but I know he’s the one lying this time. I’m being kicked out yet again. Kian didn’t even have the courtesy to do it himself.

Pissed doesn’t begin to describe what I’m feeling right now.

“Can you at least pass on a message for me?” I request sweetly.

Intrigue lights up his eyes. “Sure.”

Chapter Seventeen

Kian

“Your brother’s fiancée is hot.”

My fingers clench around the glass of scotch at Zain’s voice as he enters my office.

Iris Mannan is annoying.

Annoyingly breathtaking.

Annoyingly innocent with her doe eyes and bangs that make her look even younger.

Annoyingly persistent for a small thing.

“Did she leave?” I ask, turning around.

Zain stalks to the minibar in the corner and pours himself a drink from the tumbler before taking a perch across from my desk.

“Sent her on her way,” he informs me, taking a sip of the amber liquid. “For now. I have a feeling she’ll be back. Though, I’m curious why she’s hellbent on meeting with you if it’s not to fuck you.”

Me, fuck, and her shouldn’t even be in the same sentence.

She’s in love with my brother.
