He asked, looking even more confused. I sighed and tilted my head back. I picked up my cell and called Grams, putting her on speaker.

"Hello dear, did you leave something behind?"

"Grams, what is the IOU for?"

"Well I haven't decided yet but I was thinking of some sort of ball or gala, he has event space at that hotel of his, doesn't he?"

I turned to look at Myles, a smug smile crossing my lips as he processed that thought.

"Oh dear, Oliver and Frederick are getting into an argument. I have to go intervene. I'll call you soon Isla darling. Kisses!" Grams hung up before I could reply.

Turning to Myles, I attempted to explain Gram's thought process.

"Grams never does something in half measures. You're beholden to her, you essentially just sold your soul to Satan. Wait no, I don't want to call Grams Satan. I'm just saying she's gonna call in that IOU in a BIG way."

Myles eyed me to gauge my seriousness, before giving a small shrug.

"Oh well, there are worse things than doing something to make your Grams happy. The Bennett does have an event space after all, and if I can convince a certain baker to help cater the event it might be a fun project to work on together." He looked at me slyly.

"Oh no you don't, you're not gonna rope me into the mess you made." I said, while simultaneously processing the idea of planning an event with Myles, working closely together.

"You're telling me if your Grams called and asked you to cater her gala you would say no? Would she ask someone else?"

"Well no, she would ask me and of course I would do it." I said grouchily.

"Great! Looks like we're gonna be party planning together pretty soon."

He launched into a full smile, not the slightest bit put out at the notion of hosting a large event, cost unknown, requiring months of planning all for my Grandmother. We were stopped at a light and he turned to face me.

"You okay?"

He asked, as I just stared at him, memorizing his features.Instead of responding I slid closer to him and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. Pulling back his eyes were wide with surprise and it took the car behind us honking to break the spell.

"More than okay. I'm great." I said turning back around in my seat. I stayed close to his side, laying my head on his shoulder for the rest of the drive.

When we pulled up to my apartment building I felt hesitant and a bit shy. I didn't want the day to end, but we had spent almost the entire weekend together with my unplanned sleepover last night. I didn't want to overstay my welcome or put him on the spot.

I didn't have to worry for long though. As soon as I had my seatbelt unbuckled, Myles leaned over and pulled me towards him. Without a word he swooped down and kissed me. I felt frozen, shocked at the foreign sensation. Then all of a sudden I melted into him. His lips were soft and firm and he commanded every movement. We pulled apart, foreheads touching both of us breathing heavily.

"Can I come upstairs?" He asked and I stiffened.

"I just want to spend more time with you, I was thinking maybe we could order a pizza and watch a movie."

I tilted my head back and took in his face. I nodded slowly and was graced with his smile.

"I'd like that." I said softly. He pressed a hard kiss to my lips then exited out the drivers side door. In a daze I sat there until he walked around and helped me out. We made our way up to my apartment, our bodies swaying towards each other in the elevator.

Myles must have more strength than I did because he steered us down the hall and took the keys from my hand when wereached my door. As if our movements were practiced. Myles helped me out of my jacket before hanging both of ours up and I took our shoes to the rack by the door.

"Do you want something to drink?" I asked as I moved to the kitchen. "Coffee, tea, water?" I turned to look at him.

My heart stuttered for a minute seeing him standing there in the middle of my apartment. I never thought about a moment like this, any sort of relationship was so far off my radar when I was moving in. But now, seeing him here, I liked it. The place didn't feel so temporary or like a stop gap in my life.

"What's going through your head, pretty girl?" He asked, studying me.

"Nothing, just happy you're here." I answered smiling. He walked over to me slowly, before gathering me in his arms and kissing me. I sighed into his mouth, the kiss was soft and slow and far too short. He pulled back and shoved his face into the crook of my neck.

"You have no idea how happy I am to be here. Thank you for letting me come up." He took a step back then said. "Coffee sounds good, do you need any help?"
