They crowded together in front of the different animal enclosures, taking selfies and petting the animals. Linus relaxed, happily sniffing at the fresh hay and Storm’s cedar scent.

“You smell good,” Linus said.

Storm grinned. “Is your heat coming?”

“Maybe.” Linus blushed when his alpha’s smile grew. “We arenottalking about that here.”

“We’ll definitely discuss it tonight.” Storm wriggled his eyebrows. They followed the kids from one enclosure to another, making faces and taking pictures. Then they stopped for some cookies and milk, and bought pie from the bakery.

“Has it been a good birthday?” Storm murmured, lightly stroking Linus’ side.

“It always is with all of you,” Linus admitted.

“Good.”

A plastic bag came hurtling out from somewhere, splitting in midair and launching banana peels in several directions. Linus barely dodged one to his face.

“Where did that come from?” Linus spluttered.

“No clue.” Storm laughed. “Happy birthday?”

Linus groaned. “No.”

“I’ll make it better tonight.”

“Fine.” Linus leaned into his alpha, taking pictures as Tamsen and Ellis guided Ran around the banana peels so she wouldn’t slip and fall. “We’re raising some good kids.”

“We are,” Storm agreed. He leaned in and gave Linus a quick kiss on the lips. “Best dad.”

“Best papa,” Linus replied, returning the kiss.

“We’re going to give ourselves cavities,” Storm said, still grinning.

“Oh well.” Linus tangled their fingers together, nudging the ring that Storm wore on his finger. It had been several years of marriage now. Even so, Linus felt as though he would never have enough. An eternity with Storm would still be too short.

“What are you thinking about?” Storm whispered.

“You. And my heat.”

His alpha grinned. “You should share with the class later, Professor.”

“I’ll quiz you on it.”

“I’m afraid I’ll fail that quiz. Would you consider raising my grades if I... did you a favor?” Storm wriggled his eyebrows.

Linus laughed, knocking into Storm with his shoulder. “It’ll depend on how well you... perform.”

“You’ll be the one singing,” Storm whispered in his ear. “Your voice goes so high and sweet.”

“Oh, gods.” Linus blushed. “I can’t believe you’re talking about this here.”

“Just prepping you for later, sweetheart.” After he had made sure that no one was watching, Storm grabbed Linus’ ass and squeezed. “Mine. I’m going to claim you again.”

Linus shivered. “Yes. Please.”

“Good. My good omega.”

Linus groaned. “Now everything’s going to drag until we put the kids to bed.”

Storm laughed. “You married me. Regret it yet?”

“Never.” And Linus meant it with his entire soul.
