Page 190 of Doubts & Fears

“Yes,” I said, pushing her hair back from her face.

“Thank you.”

“No. Thank you, kitten.” After several long minutes, she tensed in my arms.

“We need to talk about a few things.”

“Yes, sweetness, we do.” I was thinking of my brothers and their feelings for her.

“Does it bother you?”

“What? That my brothers want you? No. I suppose it should. The thought of any other man looking at you makes me feel like a fucking psycho. But I’ve seen how Nik holds you and how you and Ivan move together. I can no more deny them than I can you.”

“But do you think it’s wrong?”

“Hmm, it’s certainly not conventional, and there may be people who have issues with it, but I don’t give a shit. Internally, we have some things to work out.I can guarantee you one thing, there’s no way all your pretty little holes aren’t going to be filled with a King’s cock every single day.” I traced her pussy.

“Alek,” she exclaimed, and then laughed.

“I’m serious. This is what you wanted, asked for, so unless you’ve changed your mind.”

My chest tightened; an uncomfortable feeling enveloped me. Visions of me locking her up and making her a modern day goddamned Rapunzel flashed through my mind. If she changed her mind, it’d kill me.

“No, I haven’t,” she whispered, flushing.

“Thank god. Come here.”

Instant relief filled my chest as I gathered her close. I inhaled deeply, her familiar scent calming my racing heart. Holding her this way, feeling her steady breath and heartbeat, the tension melted away, replaced by a profound sense of peace.

“I keep asking myself what the hell we are going to do with you.”

“As long as it ends with being in the arms of a King, you can do whatever you want. I mean it, I’m yours, all of me.” She yawned.

I held her tightly, and a million thoughts raced through my mind. Gradually, I realized her breathing had slowed and was deep and even—she was falling asleep in my arms.

The realization brought a smile to my face, and my chest swelled with pride. Despite the bucketfuls of uncertainty we faced, a fierce resolve to make this relationship work, no matter how unconventional it was, grew.

It didn’t stop the questions from forming. What would our parents think when they found out? How to break it to them? And what about her moving back to London with us? How would she adjust to that? My thoughts shifted to the guys back home—how would they take to having a woman permanently in the house?

Then there was her past—how much more was still unknown. Would this new development be enough for her to open up fully? And what the hell did we do about her grandfather?

I sighed and pushed the hair back from her face. “I’ve never wanted anything more than I want you,” I murmured. “I’ll do whatever it takes,” I vowed.

Nothing would diminish my fierce determination, and I would protect her at all costs. No,wewould.

Chapter 61

Nikolai

Warning From a Friend

The following day, Ivan and I were sitting at the dining room table when Alek came sauntering in. I could tell immediately that he and Kinsley had finally sealed the deal. The twin bond we shared ran deep, and I got up and hugged the shit out of him. Ivan looked up; his eyebrow raised as I laughed.

“It was good, wasn’t it?” I exclaimed.

“Better than good. Fucking amazing,” Alek said with a sheepish grin, adding, “We should probably have a family meeting about this situation we find ourselves in, brothers.”

“Very true, and about fucking time,” Ivan said with a smile.
