Page 31 of Duty Became Desire

I couldn’t stand it anymore. I couldn’t scream, for I knew he didn’t want that attention. So, I did the only thing I could think of. I bit his tongue, causing him to growl. Which shot wave after wave of intense longing and pleasure through me, making me come.

His mouth finally released mine and I sagged against him, not sure if I could even move at this moment.

Once more, he had me speechless, and damn if I didn’t want to go again.

“It’s not a wall, and it’s not a fuck, but I’ll take you wetness all over me any day.”

I glared at him and his comments then adjusted my skirt and panties before pushing him off me and stalking to the door.

That was uncalled for, especially after such a high moment. But leave it to him to be a damn prick when he didn’t need to be.

“Sign the damn papers, Alec.”

I gave him one more glance over, noticing the spot on his thigh, but also the one on the front of his pants. It was oddly satisfying knowing I wasn’t alone in the desire and passion.

But that always fizzles out.

It had to.

Because I just couldn’t stay married to a man like Alec, no matter how explosive the orgasms are.

Chapter nineteen

Alec

Amonth.

That’s how long it has been since I’ve seen Skylar, and it was both too damn long and too damn short.

Sure, I missed her.

Sure, I sent the packet back to her.

Sure, I hated every moment of putting my name on that paper.

But none of it equaled up to the moment I saw her walking down the aisle and my breath caught.

None of it equaled up to the time we spent ignoring each other throughout the wedding and how horrible it was.

And none of it equaled the pain of having to stand with her for pictures.

What a shit show for Demi and James.

And now, here we are, at their reception, blatantly glaring at each other.

“That fucking does it,” James muttered, getting out of his seat and yanking on my arm. “Get your ass up Alec. Baby, take Skylar. We’re done with this. The tension between you two is insane and I’m tired of it ruining my wedding. The first part sucked enough, do not make the second part just as bad.”

I glanced at him, finally shaking him off and walked to a back room of the venue they rented.

“Who wants to start, huh?” James asked, crossing his arms over his chest and staring at us.

“We got a divorce. The papers were sent back to Skylar. I don’t understand the big deal here,” I told him, looking anywhere but at the woman that was currently making my heart do odd things.

“You two seemed to be getting along so well. Look at all that you two did together. I can’t believe you just called it quits for no reason,” Demi said, looking at Skylar, hoping she would get more information out of her.

“You made us do those things, Demi,” Skylar told her, throwing her hands up in frustration. “You forced us to hang out. It was our duty, remember? That’s what you conned me with.”

“Bull shit, Sky. We’re friends, and we’ve been friends for far too long for you to lie like that. We didn’t con you. We might have asked, but you’re a big girl, you both could have said no.”
