BISHOP
“Iwant to stay another night.”
I knew she wouldn’t be able to resist our charm.
“I don’t think that’s wise,” Cash says.
I roll my eyes. The guy is a prospect, just siding with Diesel because he doesn’t want the man challenging him.
But whatever. This is Melissa’s choice, nobody else’s.
“If she wants to stay,” I say, walking out into the room. “Then let’s just let her.”
Diesel’s death glares are becoming less effective.
“Why do you want to stay?” he says, folding his arms over his chest. “You’ve seen the damage. I just told you what we’re up against.”
There’s something off about her. Melissa was so open before, her legs practically spread wide yesterday as she fingered herself thinking about us. Today, she’s the opposite, so rigid and closedoff, her arms wrapped around her shaking body like we’re standing in a freezer.
She was almost raped. Of course she’s acting this way.
But why would she want to stay after witnessing something so traumatic?
Not like I’m complaining…
I’m just perplexed.
Melissa shakes her head, dropping her hands at her sides. “I can’t go home. Not yet.”
“Darling,” Cash says, stepping forward. “We want you to stay too, but didn’t you listen to Diesel?”
I roll my eyes again. It’s swings and roundabouts. I wish they’d just admit their attraction toward her and do something about it. Diesel is one of the hardest nuts to crack here. Normally, he would’ve belted her onto the back of a Harley by now, against her own will. Opinions never matter to the guy. But Melissa’s seems to.
Why isn’t she strapped onto that Harley yet?
She puts her hand on Cash’s face, smoothing it up into his hair, watching him. “I don’t want to leave,” she says, extending her gaze to Diesel and me. “Because I don’t want to say goodbye. Can I be honest about something?” There’s an indent of pain between her brows that seems to get stronger the more she looks at us. “I really like all three of you.” The indent softens slightly. “And I’ve never liked anyone like this before.”
My chest contracts. “What do you mean, sweetheart?”
She takes off toward me. “I’ve never dreamed about somebody doing things to me before.”
“What kind of things?”
“Bad things.” She stops for a moment, catching her breath after realizing that she was just beginning to lose it. “Things that require me to be naked.”
My balls tighten.
Diesel and Cash, feeling left out, come closer.
“Darling,” Diesel says, “do you know how naughty it is for us to be doing things to you with all of this going on? Our Prez will not be happy.”
“He might not be.” A smirk crawls onto her face. “But I will be.”
Cash intervenes. “Are you sureweare what you want, gorgeous?”
Melissa nods without hesitation, shifting the tension in the room.
Things have just gotten complicated.
