Finding her sisters Remi, Sarah, Winnie, and Jesse in the waiting room, she walked over and hugged them.

“How is he?” Remi asked.

Beth grinned. “He woke up when I said someone had beat up Hope.”

Her sisters smiled.

“Thank goodness. He deserves some happiness,” Jesse said.

Winnie slid her arm around Beth. “Are you headed straight back?”

“Yes. I just needed to see Dad for myself,” Beth said.

“We’ve got the kids covered. Bear and I will be leaving in the next couple days to do whatever you need,” Winnie said.

Jesse grabbed Beth’s hand and pulled her over to a table where they could all sit.

“So how’s it going with you and Flick?” Jesse asked.

Beth stared at Jesse, wondering exactly what she was asking. “Between Flick and me? We’re good. He even brought me my favorite coffee and donut because the clubhouse down there is no Bluff Creek Original, that’s for sure.”

Beth stared at her sisters as they stared at each other. Seriously! What was everyone trying to say without saying it?

“What?”

“Well, we just figured that now you’re living together, spending every waking moment together, that maybe something had changed,” Sarah said.

“Changed how?” Beth asked.

“Oh, screw this! Have you and Flick got down and dirty yet?” Winnie asked, chuckling.

Beth stared at her sisters. “Why would you think that?”

Remi leaned over and banged her head against the table, muttering, are you freaking kidding me?

Sarah and Winnie were just staring at her, and it was starting to make Beth uncomfortable. Jesse stared at Winnie and motioned with her hand for Winnie to proceed.

Winnie rolled her eyes. “Fine,” she said.

Winnie sighed, then stared at Beth.

“You guys are really making me uncomfortable,” Beth said.

“So, sometimes when a guy and a girl…”

Beth held up her hand, “Stop. We had the birds and the bees talk eons ago.”

Winnie shook her head and gave Beth her disappointed look. Beth refrained from sticking her tongue out at her sister because Winnie’s look always irritated her.

“Okay. How about this? Who do you think my best friend is?” Winnie asked.

“Ummm, your hubby followed by me as your favorite sister,” Beth said, giving in and sticking her tongue out at Remi.

“Right. Who do you think is Jesse’s best friend?”

“I know you want me to say Cannon, which I think he is special. But I think Clara is probably the real best friend because she keeps the kids so Jesse and Cannon can play pound the pussy,” Beth said cheekily.

Most of her sisters laughed, but Winnie sighed again.
