Page 52 of Flick

Flick wasn’t surprised Lilly had laid down the law. She was a sweetie, but she was also positive she was in charge of the humans, not them in charge of her.

“I’m really glad we’re all together,” Flick said, his throat full. It had been such an emotional time. He’d married the woman of his dreams, and his brothers were living with him. Everything he’d wanted had happened, and Flick was almost worried it wasn’t real.

“Me too, and I really like what I’ve seen of Bluff Creek,” Brody said.

“Yeah, it feels like home,” Gunner said.

Flick nodded. They got it. Bluff Creek was home because of all the people who’d made it that way. He couldn’t wait to see what was next now that the threat in Texas was neutralized. He wanted to enjoy spending time with his wife.

Epilogue

Beth and Flick stood waiting for the ribbon cutting. Broken Hearts Brewing Company was opening today, along with their dog rescue training facility, Bluff Creek K9 Training & Rescue.

Gunner had taken point on the coffee and pastry shop, Broken Hearts Brewing Company. Brody had asked about working at Bluff Creek K9 Training and Rescue. He loved being around animals. Although their primary purpose was K9 Training and Rescue, they’d made room to take other animals if needed. There just weren’t enough resources in the small towns near their neck of the woods.

Savi and Violet had both moved to Bluff Creek and were working for the MC. Who knew a blind date with a friend would net Beth two new really good friends in Bluff Creek. She and Flick had settled into a rhythm. She’d trained a couple people in surveillance so that now her job with the bail bonds was more administrative.

Instead, she spent her time working with these businesses to open and brainstorming new ideas. After today’s openings, she was going to start working on a mobile romance bookstore to visit all the smaller towns and to go to fairs. Everyone deserved to have romance books easily accessible. She was sick and tired of either ordering her paperback romance books or driving to a big city.

She’d chuckled when she realized how many things had changed with her and Flick’s trip to Texas. She might have stirred the pot a little with Regina when she got back about the state of the clubhouse and the guys just planning on hiring someone.

Regina had flown down there after she’d seen the pictures Winnie, Beth, Rose, and Della had shown her and had a chat with the President and her son, the Vice President. After listening to their whining, she made them all help her clean the clubhouse before they could hire someone for the position. She’d helped them craft a job description for Executive Clubhouse Director. The woman was in charge of having the house kept clean, ordering all food, and providing food for the MC. Brew had sent nasty text messages to Beth and Winnie until they’d gotten the woman hired. Then he’d apologized and said he was sorry they’d let the clubhouse go because they’d all been too busy.

Flick wrapped his arms around her. “Congratulations! You’ve done a great job. So what’s the next idea?”

Her husband had come to know her quite well and even encouraged all her brainstorming or crazy ideas, as she called them. He had a whiteboard in their home office where she could jot down ideas and leave them there until she was ready to flesh them out.

Even with all the dogs and Flick’s brothers, Beth adored her life. She did have to have a chat about putting the toilet seatdown with Brody when she went to the hall bathroom in the dark one night and fell in. After calming his laughter, he’d promised to make sure he put the seat down. Her screams had woken the house. Cold toilet water hitting butt cheeks would wake anyone.

Of course, Brody and Gunner had quickly learned Beth was a one-and-done with consequences. She’d waited until Brody was in the shower, then walked to the hot water heater and turned the valve off to the shower. Brody’s yelling had Gunner cracking up. He hadn’t thought it was quite so funny when he’d come in for supper and there was a dirty plate and fork waiting for him. Instead of putting his dishes in the dishwasher, he’d been putting his dirty stuff in the sink and expecting someone else to get it in the dishwasher. Beth had informed him that was his plate and fork, and if he wanted something clean to eat on, then he’d need to wash it.

Beth had enjoyed getting to know Flick’s brothers and thought they deserved their own happily ever after. And after training them on how to live with women, she thought they were ready for it. On the last girls’ night, she and her sisters had discussed who they should help find their one next.

With all the new tattoo artists, along with the MC guys, there were so many possibilities, and Beth wanted to help.

She couldn’t imagine her life without being married to her best friend and wanted everyone else to be just as happy.

As Beth had transitioned to a more administrative role within Franks and Daughters Bail Bonds, Rose and Della had become more active going out on skips. They enjoyed partnering and were both good at the job. Beth had to wonder if it was also because they were finally basically their own bosses.

With each of them married and four of her sisters with kids, they’d all gotten together to institute an employee profit-sharing to have them as part owners of the company. Hopefully, the next generation of kids would want to help run Franks and DaughtersBail Bonds, but they also wanted to share the wealth with their employees now.

Beth glanced down the street, seeing all the new businesses and people that Bluff Creek had—all thanks to the MC and the bail bonds.

“Hey, did you see the dog that came in yesterday?” Flick asked.

Beth grinned because her husband was as much, if not more, of a softy for animals than she was.

“The one with the ear torn off and half the hair gone from his back leg?” she asked.

Flick nodded with a smirk on his face.

“Did you already reserve him for us?” she asked.

“No, of course not, but if he hasn’t been adopted by the end of the day, I want to take him home with us,” he said.

Beth leaned up and kissed Flick’s lips, then broke the kiss before someone yelled for them to get a room.

“I love you, and we can have as many animals as you want because everyone deserves love.”

The End.
