“New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc suit?”Hunter swallowed his surprise, leading her back to the living area.

“Great.”She sat in the middle of one sofa.

“I’ve got potato crisps.”For watching games with Cas.

“How’d you guess I’m an addict?”She grinned.“Notice how I’m modelling sharing information.”

“What! We’ve got potato chips and Sav Blanc in common.”

“It’s a start.Thank you.”She accepted the glass of wine and toasted him with it.“Do you have something planned for tonight?”

“What did you have in mind?”His pulse raced. Was she planning to stay?

Forgive me, Cas, for what I’m about to do.

“An early snack and some chat.My brother-in-law tells me there’s a must-see game on TV tonight. He’s got half a dozen friends joining him at his place.I’m keeping my sister company.”

“Sprung.Cas is coming by later.”

“I said early and some chat.”

“What’s your definition of chat?”

“Not what you’re thinking.”She took another sip of her drink, her gaze meeting his over the glass.

She was an honest temptress. If they bedded each other, it would be because she liked him and wanted to be intimate with him. And—inspiration struck—it wouldn’t be rushed.Thank the heavenly angels.

“Take it or leave it.”

“Sheesh. You drive a hard bargain. What are we eating?”

“I chose the venue, you choose the cuisine.”

“And you’ve organised transport home.”

“I love a man who pays attention to what I say.”She’d come into his territory, was sharing a wine, opening a door he’d nailed shut after Gina.

“Pizza?”He inclined his head.

“I like artichokes and chilli.”

“That works with pepperoni.”He pulled out his phone and pressed a button.

“You’ve got pizza on speed dial?”

“Doesn’t everyone?”Hunter hunched a shoulder.“Should be here in fifteen to twenty.Their son earns his pocket money with local deliveries. And in the interests of sharing information—they vet who he delivers to.”

“I like this pizza already.”

“Let’s eat in the dining area.”

“I also like the way your living area goes from front to back.Lounge at the front and dining at the back, leading onto a deck.”She followed him from the front to the back of the space.“Nice flow.”

He snorted.

“I’ve been reading the notes with your architectural drawings,” she confessed, “I’ve learned a lot.”

“So, you’ve already noticed I can shut off each room.”He gestured to the folding glass doors between the two rooms for temperature control.”
