I go to her and hug her against my chest.“Probably. Are all your clothes still in the bathroom?”
“Yeah.”
“What else did you bring?”
“Nothing. Literally nothing but what I was wearing. I didn’t even stop to grab my purse.”
“I’ll be right back.” I kiss her softly before gathering her clothes and shoes and carrying them down to Fang.“If you find anything, let me know immediately.”
“Of course,” he says, all business.
“Anything I can do?” Bones asks.
“No,” I snap, still irritated at his offer to check Blue for scars. Nobody gets to see her naked but me. Nobody.
Blue’s still standing where I left her. She lets out a soft whimper before rushing over to hug me. I whisper soothing words to her while stroking her hair. Her father’s going to pay for this.
“He’ll never stop looking for me,” she whispers.
“Then we’ll find a way to make him back off.”
“How?” she asks.
“I’m not sure yet. But Blue,” I tilt her chin up so I can look into her gorgeous emerald eyes,“he’s never going to hurt you again. You’re mine now.”
“Yours?” She blinks back tears and gazes up at me with so much hope it shatters something inside me.
I can’t stop myself from leading her back to bed. I want to be as close to her as possible without giving in to the fire burning between us. But as soon as I get her settled between the sheets, she throws herself at me, pushing me down into the mattress and laying across my body.
“Blue,” I croak, my voice breaking with the need to possess her completely.
“Just hold me like this. Please,” she whimpers.
I bury my face in her neck and inhale the intoxicating scent of her coppery-red hair. She’s pure temptation, and all I want to do is roll her over and bury myself deep inside her soft, curvy body.
The rumble of my heartbeat thunders in my ears, louder even than the distant growl of bikes roaring to life outside the clubhouse.
“He’ll come back,” she whispers, her emerald eyes reflecting the dim light slipping through the curtains.“My father won’t stop until he drags me back home.”
“Your home is here now.”
“I know. But he will never accept it.”
“We’ll find a way.” My voice is gravel, and I struggle to keep it steady, to be the rock she needs me to be. But damn, the way she fits against me tests my control.
I tighten my hold on her, the muscles in my arms flexing involuntarily. Her fingers trace the ink on my chest, lingering over the emblem of UVMC NOLA, the club that feels more like family than the one I lost. I want to destroy the evil men who haunt the streets of New Orleans, but right now, all I can think about is how much I want to lose myself in her.
“Vapor,” she murmurs, her breath hot against my skin.“I want you to touch me.”
“Blue,” I groan.“Once I start, I won’t be able to stop.”
“Then don’t.”
Her lips find mine, tentative at first, but quickly she turns the kiss into something more, something fierce and demanding and so seductive I’m powerless to resist. I kiss her back with a hunger that has nothing to do with revenge or justice, and everything to do with the raw need she’s stirring in me.
She presses closer, molding her curves to my frame, forcing me to walk the razor’s edge between comforting her and succumbing to my carnal craving. With each kiss and each touch, I try to chase her fears away. To replace them with something stronger. A tie that binds her to me.
“Touch me,” she gasps, breaking away for a breath, her eyes searching mine.“Make me yours.”
