Chapter Eleven

Ella

"Is that everything?" Kayla asked, pulling her hair back and securing it on the top of her head with a few pins. "You don't want this?"

Picking up an old cutting board, she twisted it back and forth, holding it out like one of the models from a gameshow. I watched Kayla as she tried to resell me the cutting board with its large, sliced grooves, and stained surface. Framing the outside, she gave me a big smile.

"No, it can stay. Maybe Frank will take it home and use it." Running the packing tape across the top of the box, I labeled it as kitchenware and pushed it to the side. "All of this is going into storage anyway, August says all I need are my clothes."

"And you probably won't even need those. . ." Pausing, Kay winked at me, wiggling her hips.

"I don't know about that—"

"Yeah, Kayla, he'll probably only be able to fuck doggie style with a dirty magazine propped up on her ass." Justin laughed to himself, pulling up his sleeves as he picked up a box and walked back out of the apartment.

Folding my brows up, I looked at Kayla. "How did I let you convince me to let that ass-bag help?"

"Because he said he would, and he's muscle, we need muscle. Do you want to bring all these boxes down by ourselves?"

"If it meant I wouldn't have to see or hear any of his horrible, asshole jokes, I'd be fine with that."

"Just give him a chance, El. Do it for me, don't think about him, just think about how much your best friend loves that asshole." Kayla gave me sad, pleading eyes, pouting her lower lip.

Letting out a deep breath, I rolled my eyes and shook my head. "Fine, but you can't expect me to just sit back and let him be a jerk."

"I'm not asking you to change who you are, I just want you to try is all. And stop giving him a reaction, it's like once he knows he's getting to you, it makes him worse. Please, just ignore him." Thinning her lips, they quickly shifted into a big grin. "Besides, I'm here packing your ass up to move you into the home of some rich, handsome, god-like man you just met so you can have his baby. I think that basically makes us level now, don't you think?"

"Mm, it looks like you found a loop hole here. All of that sounded way better in my head." Giggling, I nodded. "I guess we can call it even for right now."

"Call what even?" Justin asked as he walked into the almost empty apartment. Glancing between us, he rested his hands on his hips and stared at us. "What are you two talking about?"

"I'm pretty sure our periods—" I started to say, but Justin cut me off, making a gagging noise.

Holding up his hand, he closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths. "That shit is disgusting, no one wants to hear that."
