Chapter Eleven

Thoroughly confused, Lucy stared from one to the other. If they’re gay, why on earth are they hitting on me?Maybe she’d misread things and both merely wanted to be friends.

Giving her head a tiny shake, she said, “I’m sorry.I ...I really don’t understand.”

“I’m bisexual and so is Jack.We met about ten years ago.We hit it off straight away and started a relationship, been together ever since.I’m fifty-four and Jack’s fifty-three.A few times we had a third—sometimes a man, other times a woman, but none of it’s ever worked out, despite our hoping it would. They’ve either wanted just one of us, or didn’t like our relationship, or else one of us hadn’t really felt comfortable with them.”

Now that Sebastian had told her, it seemed so obvious. The way they’d touch each other, Sebastian ordering. But it certainly wasn’t anything she’d considered and started giggling.

“Well, I didn’t expect that reaction.”

Now it was Sebastian and Jack’s turn to look surprised.

“I’m sorry. It’s just I remember thinking on Saturday after I’d gone home how hard it would be to choose which of you two I liked better.I decided it was probably a good thing that I wasn’t going to see you again.”

Both men appeared relieved.

Lucy remembered wondering, as she’d fallen asleep, what it would be like to make love with two men.Her dreams lately had been rather X-rated, filled with both of them. Then she remembered how much she’d been excited by all the ménage romance books she’d read. Her heart did a little excited dance as she grinned to herself.

Wow.Looks like if I want to, I could actually find out.

“I honestly don’t know what to say.”

“Well, I guess the fact that you’re still sitting there and haven’t run screaming from the room is a good sign.”

Lucy tittered.“It’s so ...surprising.”

“I guess so.But what we’d like to know is if you’d be interested in going out, learning about each other?”

Sebastian sat back on the couch alongside Jack, who smiled warmly at him.Sebastian took his hand and gazed at Lucy.

Lucy stared at the pair of them.“This takes some getting my head around.”She breathed deep.It was always hard for her to talk about intimate details, but she knew she had to understand exactly what they were offering, what they intended.“Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re in a sexual relationship with each other. You’d both like to get to know me, and maybe at some point you’d like me to...”Her voice took on a higher pitch.“To join as a third partner?”

“Crudely put but basically yes.Although, for us at least, this isn’t just a sexual fling.”

“Oh.”

Crazy images filled her mind, images of writhing, naked bodies.Herself, intertwined with these two—reminders of her recent dreams.

“We both like you.On Saturday, the two of us were interested when we first saw you.Jack pointed you out to me, and you stood out to us.You seemed different to the people you were with.It was like although you were with them, you were separate.”

Sebastian’s words made a warmth rush through her body.

He continued.“Anyway, we both wanted to know more about you. Then when we talked, I was positive we were all attracted to each other.”He gave a laugh.“And let’s not forget that fucking dance!Oh my god, I thought any second we were going to have to drag you off, bring you here, and check your delightful body.”He gave Lucy a grin filled with sexual hints.

Her stomach fluttered and she was glad she hadn’t accepted the offer of dessert—she doubted she’d keep it down.

“It’s true neither of us could get you out of our heads.Jack will agree with me, we wanted to know all about you.Know your likes and dislikes, wanted to take you out.Sit and relax with you.Talk to you, just get to know you.”

Jack nodded his head in agreement.“You should have seen me trying to find out how we could contact you from your workmates.I tried every trick I had.Have to say I was so disappointed thinking we’d never see you again.”Jack sounded earnest as he smiled at Lucy.“This is fate, or kismet, or karma, whatever you want to call it.”

Her mind boiled in turmoil, but these two tempted her.All her life she’d felt as if she’d lived for everyone else. She’d raised her daughter, then cared for her mother. Now it washertime.Still, this took a bit of getting used to.Not one but two men. There was no denying the attraction, the novelty of it all, but she honestly wondered if it would work.It definitely would in the beginning–it would be exciting. But given the fact she knew she needed someone stronger, someone to control her, she imagined once the novelty wore off, then she would end up unsatisfied like her other relationships, her dating. She was being offered something that a lot of women would give their eye teeth for, yet could she be satisfied?

The men must have read the concerns on her face, because they both stood.Sebastian sat alongside her while Jack crouched down in front. He put a hand on one knee, sending a tingle of excitement through her.

“Don’t worry, Lucy,” Jack said.“If it’s not for you, then it’s not.You can still have us as friends if you want.In fact, we’d love to stay friends with you.”
