“More than—” She licked her lips and squeezed her thighs together to keep the tingles in check. Darting a nervous look at Korben, Sara whispered. “It gets more intense?”
“As your connection gets stronger, so does everything else. The Wi-fi chip makes the connection way more… well, you’ll see.”
Sara’s breath was hot and unsteady. “I don’t know if I can survivemore.”
Ga Eun laughed.
“Seriously,” Sara said, only half-joking.
“Plutonians are studs, aren’t they?” Ga Eun wiggled her eyebrows. “And their stamina…”
“Ga Eun!”
“Well, how do you think Kenzi was birthed?” She laughed.
Sara didn’t join her.
The words echoed in her head like a cymbal crash.
Like an explosion.
Like a dousing of cold dama.
How do you think Kenzi was birthed?
She thought of last night. Her voice hoarse from screaming. Her legs pushed back as far as they could go. Her arms. Mouth. Heart. Open. Wide open. Korben over her. Filling her. Gorging on her. The headboard jamming against the wall. His hips thrusting to the beat.
She’d known it was more than pleasure.
He was mating her.
Claiming her.
And a part of her had accepted that.
But this?
It had thrown a whole new wrench into an already complicated situation.
What they’d done last night could result in a child.
Korben’s child.
She glanced across the room at him. Had he known that from the start? Was that why he’d pursued her? Made her feel special and protected and treasured?Had he taken her from the beluda only to try and get at her womb?
Which was worse? Being kidnapped as a sacrifice to the Heronas or being kidnapped to become his incubator?
“Whoa.” Ga Eun pulled the swab back. “Explain that expression.”
Before she could, the males returned to them. Korben knelt in front of her chair and rested a hand on her leg. His purple eyes fastened on her and she felt that strong tug between them again.
It was a frightening feeling. She couldn’t balance on this tightrope without falling over and diving deep into him. The more she lost herself to this alien warrior, the more it would hurt if he ever betrayed her.
The thumping of her heart nearly drowned out his words, as Korben spoke low and steady. “Sah-ah, iz gun bea huti.”
Sara forced her gaze away from him and glanced at Ga Eun.
“He said it’s going to hurt.”
