I know there’s no manual for becoming a parent, but the support I have around me is more than enough to help me learn along the way.

When I slow my thoughts down and start to think about it rationally, IknowI can be a good mother. And the baby will also have five amazing fathers.

“Move back. I’m knocking it down,” Jax says. I narrow my eyes on the door.

Extremelyoverprotectivefathers, but amazing, nonetheless.

I hear a slap, making me smile. “Like last time? She nearly cut your balls off,” Luka reminds him.

“She screamed,” Jax growls at him. He’s right, I did.

Luka sighs. “It was a spider.” The fucker was huge, nearly the size of my hand. I didn’t think they grew that big, but apparently having an island all to themselves makes them juice up.

“And fucking what? My mate needed me. It’s not my fault you fuckers are lacking in the hero department.”

The more the guy’s squabble, the more I calm down. It’s a shock, a surprise, but maybe a good one.

“I’ve checked the outside and every other room. There’s no threat,” Rion tells them, his tone serious. I bet he checked out the entire house just before coming in here. And the house wasn’t exactly small. Having an entire Island to ourselves gave us plenty of room to build our dream home.

I shake my head. I think we are going to be just fine. My eyes water as I smile to myself, probably looking like a crazy person. A rush of warmth rushes through me as my fears and worries start to slowly ebb away.

“Kiarra, just come out and talk to us,” Luka asks, as patient as ever.

“I’m… okay guys, really.”

Movement outside stops as the guys go quiet. “Is she… is shecrying?”

I lift my hand to my face and realize I have been crying. But it’s happy tears.

Fucking hormones.

I move to the sink to wash my face when the door shoots open, the lock snapping as Kai steps through. He heads straight over to me, inspecting me for anything out of the ordinary while the others follow in behind him, their eyes veering to me first before narrowing on him.

Axel crosses his arms. “I thought we were supposed to respect her personal boundaries?”

“Not when she’s upset.” Kai’s eyes don’t leave me as he continues to search my face, frowning.

“You don’t get upset for nothing, Kiarra. Tell us what’s going on?”

Luka steps up beside him. “He’s right. You haven’t been yourself lately. Don’t think none of us haven’t noticed.”

I open my mouth to reply when Jax narrows his eyes around the room. “It’s another spider, isn’t it? Tell me where it is, and I’ll destroy the little fucker.”

I laugh and he sends me a wink.

“What the fuck is this?” Axel picks up the pregnancy test and the others freeze. I guess the cat’s out of the bag.

Axel turns to me, a shocked look on his face. “Kiarra?” he swallows hard.

I look at all of my guys, shrugging. “Surprise?”

You could hear a pin drop in the room. Kai pulls me closer, holding me gently as if I’m now something fragile and about to break. “You’re… You’re…”

I nod, smiling. “Pregnant.”

They all start to smile but Kai gives them a sharp look making them stop. Kai looks at me, a soft look on his face. “And you’re… okay with this?”

I chuckle and nod. “I was just a little surprised, that’s all. I’m… also a little nervous.”
