"I mean, in my mind, you already my girl and shit but I know I can't keep holdin' this shit off."

"I'm ready to put all the bullshit behind us and make you mine again." He turned over to look at me as happiness and emotions flooded my entire body.

I'd been waiting long for him to say this to me. All of the arguments, all of the time spent and me admitting to cheating on him almost seven months ago, I was just ready to finally be us again. Officially.

"Baby, I'm ready too." I admitted as we looked into each other's eyes.

"Yeah?" He asked and I nodded.

"I just have one condition before we decide this." I explained to him and he raised his eyebrows.

"What's that?"

"I want you and my mom to sit down and finally talk." I expressed and he scoffed, looking up at the ceiling again.

"Fuck no.." He trailed off, shaking his head.

"Babe-"

"Na' you trippin'." He cut me off.

"I'a do anything for you T and you know that. But your moms, na'.."

"That's the one thing I ain't doing."

"But Dominic, plea-"

"No." He spoke sternly, making me look at him with sad eyes.

"Well how are we ever going to work? She's my mom. I want you and her to at least have an understanding."

"Plus she can explain the entire cheating situation to you so you can understand thoroughly." I expressed to him and he shrugged.

"Na' I'm coo."

"So we're not going to get back together because you want to be stubborn?"

"Na' we ain't gon' get back together because you wan' me to do some shit that I can't do."

"Why not?"

"Why?" I spoke getting upset.

"Because of your stupid pride?"

"Na' because I said I ain't doing that shit." He spat, making my lip tremble.

"Na' gon' head with all that shit, T."

"Fine." I said biting my lip, my happiness going away as quickly as it came.

Turning away from him, I heard him deeply sigh as I laid there sulking.

"Why you always gotta make shit harder than it has to be, Tiana?"

"I'm not making anything harder." I quickly turned back around to look at him.

"But just like you, I want this time around to be better than the last. I don't want you hating my mom and I don't want her secretly hating you."
